Hard Candy Makeup Kit in Glamazon Glow: Quick Review and Swatches

Grabbing this makeup set is very anti-me for so many different reasons:
1. I don't know how to use a bronzer. I've never been around baked bronzers before. My makeup routine is very simple that I consider bronzers as non-necessities.
2. I'm not a fan of lipglosses. All of my previous experience with lipglosses led me to believe that they're just gooey, globby stuff that always make me feel uncomfortable. Like eating lechon baboy (roasted pig) and not wiping my mouth.Oh! But I don't even eat pork. Hehe
3. I've never used and illuminator before. Beauty bloggers say that they're supposed to highlight the parts where you put it. Yikes!
4. I'm still happy with my current primer, the Maybelline Babyskin Pore Eraser so maybe I didn't need the primer here.
But that's just me. I went against myself again and decided to grab this still and try to be adventurous, otherwise I would never know how it feels to use a bronzer or an illuminator. :)

The Hard Candy Makeup Kit in Glamazon Glow includes four sample sized cosmetics: a baked bronzer, a primer, a lipgloss and an illuminator

Just out of the box
These are sample-sized stuff and I tried them all out. Here's the rundown.

 So Baked Bronzer in Tropics
"So Baked Bronzer in Tropics gives the complexion a hint of bronzed color for a sun-kissed look."

It's really, kind of yellow-ish already actually. It does give the hint of  a sun-kissed look. It has a faint vanilla-like scent that isn't too overwhelming. It did however highlight my pores and other imperfections in my face so I've decided to use this sparingly. Or it could also be used on other parts of my body, like shoulder blades or something. Could work as an eyeshadow too. But I reckon that it fades away easily though.

Left: Before application of bronzer / Right: Applied it on the apples of my cheeks
Ingredient List : Talc, Parabens and Phenoxyethanol are all present
Sheer Envy Primer
"Improves foundation application while minimizing imperfections. Makeup lasts longer!"
Smells like sweet milky vanilla too. It does make my skin feel like a smooth canvas for application of makeup but I have yet to test if it really makes my makeup last longer. About minimizing the imperfections claim, it did make my pores look a bit smaller but I don't know if my camera captured it well.

Ingredients

Plexi Gloss Glossy Lip Shine
"Coats lips with a shot of glistening, glassy color with Plexi Gloss in Genie."
It's a lipgloss with glitters. Yikes! But I kinda liked it actually. It stays put and didn't keep on moving around  my mouth. I've tried it on top of my matte lippies and it's absolutely awesome!

Do you see the glitters?

Glow All the Way Face and Body Luminizer
"A golden bronze luminizing highlighter that illuminates all skintones. Infused with 24 karat gold!"
Like woah!  I actually skipped the face and used it on my body. Hand in particular because it looked oily and I was scared silly that it will break me out. It does give a glow, kind of golden brown. But it's not something I'm going to use a lot. Maybe if I go party out at night it could come handy.

Samples and then blended out on my skin.

My favorite in this bunch is the lipgloss. Second is probably the Luminizer then the Primer. But if you're going to ask me if I'm buying the full-sized stuff I'd probably say no. I'm all  for building a basic makeup kit and none of these I consider basic. I've lived for a long time without lipgloss so....

But it's always nice to be able to try new stuff. :) And at least it made me glow.

XO,

Cassie
