Conceal It, Don't Let It Show : Naturactor Cover Face Foundation/Concealer In Action

I went through the usual phase of being a teenager: pimples here and there. Not plenty at once but never without one. By the time I got older and established a better skincare regimen, they all cleared up. It might have been because my hormones were no longer as crazy too. But by then, I knew the damage had been done and I was left with some scars to deal with. That's just one problem. I've been pretty much bullheaded about staying up late and now I have these dark circles under my eyes. I think it got worse when I gave birth and now it's just a usual sight. But I admit that they darkened my sparkles. *Hehe*
Last year I discovered this little product: The NATURACTOR COVER FACE FOUNDATION/CONCEALER. Although it can't totally hide all the signs of sleepless nights, I'd have to say that it's one of the most satisfying products I have ever tried.

I'm like a little sheep when it comes to cosmetics. Always following the herd. Moreover, I rely heavily on product reviews. Before deciding on something I go over it several dozen times. This product in particular is raved about by so many beauty bloggers that they made me want it so badly. But it's always make or break, right? What works for them may not work for you. But then again, I'm happy that I did try it out.

Congrats if you can read these!

The little box that housed the product nearly freaked me out. This one is from Japan and 98% percent of the label is written in their language. Thankfully their website can be viewed in English and at least I felt comfortable when I understood the specs.

Packaging
When I received the product, I honestly thought it would be bigger. Photos online can be deceiving yes. It's not even 2 inches in diameter. When I opened the white screw capped container, I was relieved that it was filled to the brim. The container looks sleek and clean and feels sturdy enough. I'm not willing to drop the product though just to test that. *Haha*
I call it a humble packaging. For what it can do, it's a humble, simple packaging.

Firsthand Experience
The first thing I do whenever I try out a product is to sniff it and determine if it has a particular overwhelming scent because I can easily get nauseous. This one has a very faint flowery scent that you won't even notice. I noticed too that the longer it stayed on my face and therefore it got mixed with my sweat, it didn't develop any chemical-like scent which I hate in other products.

The color of the product on the photo is a very close representation. Yes, it looks dark and that was the first thing I was worried about when I opened it. I might have picked the wrong shade! But when I swatched it and blended it, I knew I got it right. It's in shade 151. Getting the right shade for you is tricky but I'll talk about that later.

Just a swatch, it hasn't been blended out yet.

The consistency of this product is kind of like a stick foundation's or stick concealer's. You only need a small amount of product for cover up so this pan will certainly last a long time. I use this mostly as a concealer but it is actually a foundation that can be used all over the face. It stays put in my face all day, especially when paired with a good powder like Palgantong. I usually use it on top of a BB Cream to cover out the dark circles and the scars but for the sake of this review, I used it alone.

On the first photo I don't have anything on my face. One the second and third I used Naturactor alone
These photos are pretty much untouched, no editing or blurring done. Awesome coverage, right? Of course I fixed by eyebrows too. (0-0) He he

Picking The Right Shade and Other Specifics
When you checkout their website, www.naturactorfoundation.com you'll see that this is one of their bestsellers. According to them, "It is the most widely used product by Asian celebrities in Japan and all over South East Asia including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, The Philippines, Thailand, China and Taiwan."

It has five shades and here are the description for each one:

130 Very light shade. Gives vibrance to pale skin creating a rosy, youthful look. Suitable for very fair skin tone.
140 Light shade. Slightly deeper in color than 130 suitable for fair skin tone.
141 Medium shade. The translucence of this shade makes it suitable for fair to medium skin tone. Suitable for a natural look.
151 Dark shade. Suitable for creating coverage over scars and other major skin imperfection. Translucence of this shade makes it suitable for medium to dark skin tone. Best for brown skin tone.
171 Green shade. Neutralizes redness, superficial blood vessels, acne, blemishes, allergies, irritation and skin redness in general.

I picked 151 based on reviews made by other beauty bloggers. If you're interested you can just Google them.

Ingredients are as follows. It would make any paraben-bht-phenoxyethanol freak happy because it contains none of those.

Jojoba Oil, Mica, Tocopherol, Euphorbia Antisyphilitica Extract

Price and Size: $14.95 for 20g
I got it locally for a lower price. Local online shops usually buy in bulks so they are able to sell it at lower prices. You can check out KheiShop, Pretty Angel Shop or Kering Keri Store on Facebook.

And as for the local celebs who use it, here's a photo I found on Google.

Summary
I obviously love it! It's a simple product that works. Beginners won't be intimidated at all. Just use your ring finger to apply it and tap tap tap, blend and you can see the difference. It's very economical too because you won't need much per application. And I'll repurchase it for as long as it's available in the market.

XO,

Carissa
