Missha Under Eye Brightener in Natural Beige Review + In Action

Here's a review of Missha's Under Eye Brightener in shade Natural Beige. The "brightener" name was enough to perk up my excitement because obviously my baggies are a problem area. I'm sharing my experience about it after the jump.

For starters, I'd have thought that you'd be curious about the size of the tube so I put it next to a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream for comparison. So it's evidently slimmer than the NYX SMLC.

Congratulations if you can read Korean. :) The numbers are all that I can recognize here but it's enough to inform me that I need to consume it within a year after opening it.

Packaging x Applicator

The size of the doe foot applicator is great for applying on the under eye area. It's also bendable so you can basically go through small corners but I only use it to draw lines underneath the eyes. I prefer using a sponge for blending.

I'm sad that so much product gets stuck underneath the cap, on the wand and on the neck of the tube. Sometimes, instead of using the applicator to put it under my eyes, I get a small concealer brush and try to use up the product that's stuck on the neck of the tube or underneath the cap. Sayang kasi!

Swatch

So you can see that it's quiet light compared to my complexion. There are only two shade options: Light Beige and Natural Beige and of course I opted for the darker one which is Natural Beige.

It's a liquid concealer but quickly sets to a powdery matte upon blending out. The under eye needs to be prepped with a cream otherwise it would look streaky or uneven. It does have a slight cooling effect on the under eyes upon application. It also has a scent, like a toned down version of a liquid eraser (yes, that office supply). That is according to my nose, I don't know if it would be the same for others. (^_^)

Let's check out if there was any brightening effect on my baggies.

In Action
1. Bare under eyes; with Quick FX Eyelift Cream.
2. Applied Missha Under Eye Brightener in Natural Beige.
3. Blended Missha Under Eye Brightener in Natural Beige.
4. Applied Nichido Final Powder in Ivory Glow as setting powder.

Obviously I have a great deal of redness on the this area and the Under Eye Brightener not only worked in brightening my under eyes and covering the darkness but also toned down the redness.

The product claims that it can also cover blemishes but I prefer not using it on stuff like pimple marks because instead of concealing, it highlights them.

Since it is good in highlighting, I use it instead as a highlighter on my brow bones and it really makes my eyebrows looks good, even if I'm not so good at drawing them.

I didn't experience creasing, especially since I set it with the Nichido Final Powder but I did notice that after about 2 or 3 hours, the dark shadows under my eyes would start peeking out.

Overall, if you want an affordable under eye concealer that's so easy to use, you can try out this product. I wish there were other shade choices but since this is a Korean product it would be quiet impossible for Missha to produce deeper shades.
