Here's a review of Missha's Under Eye Brightener in shade Natural Beige. The "brightener" name was enough to perk up my excitement because obviously my baggies are a problem area. I'm sharing my experience about it after the jump.

For starters, I'd have thought that you'd be curious about the size of the tube so I put it next to a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream for comparison. So it's evidently slimmer than the NYX SMLC.

Congratulations if you can read Korean. :) The numbers are all that I can recognize here but it's enough to inform me that I need to consume it within a year after opening it.

Packaging x Applicator

The size of the doe foot applicator is great for applying on the under eye area. It's also bendable so you can basically go through small corners but I only use it to draw lines underneath the eyes. I prefer using a sponge for blending.

I'm sad that so much product gets stuck underneath the cap, on the wand and on the neck of the tube. Sometimes, instead of using the applicator to put it under my eyes, I get a small concealer brush and try to use up the product that's stuck on the neck of the tube or underneath the cap. Sayang kasi!

Swatch

So you can see that it's quiet light compared to my complexion. There are only two shade options: Light Beige and Natural Beige and of course I opted for the darker one which is Natural Beige.

It's a liquid concealer but quickly sets to a powdery matte upon blending out. The under eye needs to be prepped with a cream otherwise it would look streaky or uneven. It does have a slight cooling effect on the under eyes upon application. It also has a scent, like a toned down version of a liquid eraser (yes, that office supply). That is according to my nose, I don't know if it would be the same for others. (^_^)

Let's check out if there was any brightening effect on my baggies.

In Action
1. Bare under eyes; with Quick FX Eyelift Cream.
2. Applied Missha Under Eye Brightener in Natural Beige.
3. Blended Missha Under Eye Brightener in Natural Beige.
4. Applied Nichido Final Powder in Ivory Glow as setting powder.

Obviously I have a great deal of redness on the this area and the Under Eye Brightener not only worked in brightening my under eyes and covering the darkness but also toned down the redness.

The product claims that it can also cover blemishes but I prefer not using it on stuff like pimple marks because instead of concealing, it highlights them.

Since it is good in highlighting, I use it instead as a highlighter on my brow bones and it really makes my eyebrows looks good, even if I'm not so good at drawing them.

I didn't experience creasing, especially since I set it with the Nichido Final Powder but I did notice that after about 2 or 3 hours, the dark shadows under my eyes would start peeking out.

Overall, if you want an affordable under eye concealer that's so easy to use, you can try out this product. I wish there were other shade choices but since this is a Korean product it would be quiet impossible for Missha to produce deeper shades.

First of all, I know that "It's Not Poison..." is a beauty and lifestyle blog and I often come here to share my experience about beauty products or latest misadventures with my daughter; very seldom do I come here to rant about the political situation in my country, the Philippines. However, something BIG happened yesterday. I never thought I'd live to see the day that former president Ferdinand E. Marcos would be buried in the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (Heroes Cemetery). I am still wallowing in the sadness of it, especially because I feel that it will not give the longed for "closure" for the families of those who were raped, killed and tortured during the Martial Law.

Far from being a closure, I think this story is not yet over. My eyes are peeled and my fingers are crossed for what's to come next.

My beauty haul from Althea.
On a lighter note, I didn't come home empty handed during my last surfing sesh at Althea's online shopping site. If you don't already know, Althea is a "one-stop shopping destination for authentic K-beauty (Korean beauty) products at a reasonable price." I know I always consider buying Proudly Pinoy products but I decided to try something Korean for a bit of change. He he. I think this is the first time that I am doing so and I am always wary about buying Korean cosmetics from other sites because there are a lot of fake makeups being sold in the market. The last thing I want to happen is to have an ugly skin instead of getting that K-beauty glow!

So the deal is, you shop from ph.althea.kr and the stuff gets shipped fresh from Korea! Upon arrival of any product that I buy, I always check the expiration dates just to be sure if they sold me something stale. These babies all have a 2018-2019 expiry dates which means that they are indeed just freshly manufactured. For purchases of Php 999.00 and up, you get free shipping; if you spend below that amount you get charged an additional Php 250.00 for shipping so of course, the no-brainer decision is to spend about a thousand grands, just like I did. Check out my loot. ;)

ABBAMART GET YOUR LIP CRAYON IN RED VELVET
Price: Php 660.00 320.00
Got one because I don't own a single red lipstick these days. Shame!
Pros: Great color pay-off, flattering shade of red, stays put for hours; minimal transfer; very matte, non-drying on the lips and the crayon tip makes for easy, breezy, mess-free, lip brush-free application.
Cons: I cannot think of any as of the moment.

ABBAMART SHY SMILE BLUSHER PEARL IN ROSE GOLD
Size: 8g//Price: Php 400.00 Php 260.00
This blusher is a great pick for something under Php 300.00. It looks too reddish on the pan but when applied with a light hand, you get a natural looking flush of pink. And thank God the shimmers on this one are not chunky! I repeat, apply with a light hand.  :)

WITCH'S POUCH SELFIE PERFECT EYEBROW IN GRAY BROWN
Price: Php 499.00 150.00
For once in my life, I wanted to do away from sharpening an eyebrow pencil. Thanks to this one's twist-up mechanism I no longer have to, at least for a while. I originally wanted the dark brown variety but it was out of stock but this color is just as fine, if not better. My hair isn't died and it's in its natural black state that's why gray brown fits well, it isn't too dark or too light. And it came with a free refill. That is seriously sick!

MISSHA UNDER EYE BRIGHTENER IN NATURAL BEIGE
Size: 5g//Price Php 399.99 190.00
Finally an under eye brightener for those sleepless nights. Cannot wait to test this one and one day make a proper review!

Y.E.T. DON'T WORRY MASK SHEET IN POLICE MASK (OIL CONTROL)
5 pieces for Php 80.00 24.00 each.
..And last but not the least, the masks sheets which came at Php 24.00 each. They were the perfect addition to my cart when I needed to complete the Php 999.00 content to avail of a free-shipping. I haven't tried 'em yet but I know they're perfect for me since I have oily skin. It's called the Police Mask; perfect for me since I work for the Philippine National Police. LOL. I read the ingredients at the back of the sheet and it has  lots of plant extracts which I know will help address oiliness issues.

I am totes happy about all of these tingamajigs that I purchased from Althea. The makeups are all very useful for my everyday prepping-up routine.

This definitely isn't the last time that I'm shopping with Althea. On their site it says that your package will arrive within 5 to 10 days. I got it after about a week so I was really delighted.

Have you shopped from Althea? Do share what you got!

Carissa
