I hate using this line, but IT'S REALLY BEEN A WHILE!
I slacked through the better part of 2019 and here we are at the start of the second quarter of 2020, seemingly trying to not make it a tradition.
A month into the lockdown, when things are starting to feel a little calmer (at least here in the Eastern Visayas part), I finally found time to look into the pile of skin care things that I purchased last year.
I needed to do things to stay off Facebook to stop feeling anxious, hence the decluttering. It also gives me the chance to check out the expiry dates so I would know which ones should I use immediately and which ones should I chuck.
Hop on as I delve into these things and make a quick comments/reviews.

➤Currently using
RYX Skincerity Ultra Hydrating Foam Cleanser
How Much: Php 95.00 for 50 mL refill/Php 350.00 150 mL bottle with foamer
Where To Buy: Shopee ➧ I was able to use the RYX Skincerity Rejuvenating Set last year and although it didn't turn out to be a bad experience, I must say that I could never get used to the feeling of using something that involves A LOT of peeling. So I purchased this foam cleanser afterwards and I loved it that I decided to get two pieces of 50 mL refills in addition to the full-sized one that I already had. This cleanser is ideal for removing the day's grime, although I always make sure that I double cleanse to fully remove makeup and sunscreen. I love how it gives me a satisfying lather but it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. It is gel type which I find effective for my oily and pimple prone skin. It contains niacinamide, aloe vera extract, carrot extract, papaine and vitamin B3 among others so it not only nourishes but it also exfoliates the skin. It also has a nice fruity scent. However, it is not readily available locally so I'm not sure if I will be able to repurchase it given the current situation.

Celeteque Acne Solutions Acne Cleansing Gel
How Much: Php 270.00 for a 50 mL tube
Where To Buy: Mercury Drug ➧ I've always recognized the power of Salicylic Acid when it comes to dealing with zits and this is basically the selling point of this product for me. This is an oil-free cleansing gel that purifies and clears skin. It is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, dermatologist tested, and fragrance free. But I won't say I never get zits when I'm using this ah. Dealing with one's skin is like doing rocket science sometimes; so many factors affect it, sometimes it's the food, sometimes it's hormones, sometimes it's dirt, sometimes it's stress. What's important is that it doesn't go out of hand, and that you are not left with a humongous scar afterwards. Gentle cleansers with acids always help. ;)

Coming Up
La Roche-Posay Purifying Foaming Cleanser
Price: $14.99 for 400 mL from https://www.laroche-posay.us/
Where To Buy: ➧ The La Roche-Posay website simply describes it as "a daily facial wash for normal to oily skin foams to remove face and eye makeup, dirt, and impurities. Its refreshing gel formula removes excess oil while maintaining skin’s natural protective barrier and pH. Leaves skin feeling clean and fresh." which reminds me of how straightforward Celeteque's Hydrating Facial Wash is. It contains Ceramide-3, Niacinamide, Glycerin, and La Roche-Posay Prebiotic Thermal Water which will certainly give the skin some good lovin'.

anti acne soap tea tree soap
Zenutrients Tea Tree Balancing Soap
Php 88.00 for 100g
Where To Buy: www.beautymnl.com  ➧ I intend to use it again when I run out of my current facial washes. Tea Tree is also one of my favorite ingredients when it comes to fighting pimples. I do have reservations when it comes to using soap on the face as it can be harsh. I will update this entry in the future.

Empties
I have emptied several facial washes last year such as the Celeteque Hydration Facial Wash and the Celeteque Hydration Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash, pictured here with my favorite micellar water. I love how simple and mild they are but they work, are very affordable and are always readily available at the local Mercury Drug.
I also used the Safeguard Derma Sense albeit I was not able to take a photo of it. It also contained Salicylic Acid for made it ideal for fighting the pimples however, I just felt that my skin looked dull while I was using it. 😃 Anyways. When it comes to making repurchases, I'm sure I won't hesitate to pick up Celeteque products over and over again.

The Device - If you are curious about the pink, triangular device...
Alani Sonic Skin Cleanser and Facial Massager
Price: Php 450.00
Where To Buy: Kimstore ➧ The Alani Sonic Skin Cleanser and Facial Massager is a cleansing device which is made from safe-for-skin silicone material. It has four brush heads which can be used as cleanser or massager. It is waterproof and rechargeable. It vibrates/pulses upon pressing the power button and it also has buttons for adjusting the strength of the pulses. I have been using mine for nearly a year however, it just stopped working, like it no longer vibrates or sends sonic pulses but it still lights up when plugged to a charger. I dunno what went wrong but anyway, I still use it for cleaning/scrubbing my face even if it no longer has power.

And that is it for my facial washes as of this point.
I will consume them first before picking up new ones.
Next up, I will post about the makeup removers and the toners.

XO,

caSSie ♥️
I am referring to the Celeteque DermoScience Sun Care Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15 and its sibling, the Matte Moisturizer with SPF 30.
I have previously blogged about the other moisturizer from Celeteque, from the Hydration sub-brand and you can read about that one here. I loved that one because it was a no-frills moisturizer and it really did good in hydrating my face. That product had one catch though: it had no SPF and in this country, any amount of sun-protection is necessary. Good if it has 15, even greater if it has 30. That's why I tried these two products out to see if which one will work for me. Jump over to the reviews, please.

Celeteque DermoScience Sun Care Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15
I'll just say this straight-up: I like this one more than the Hydration Facial Moisturizer and it's not just because of the SPF content. I am not dry-skinned to begin with, I am an oily-skinned gal. I have observed that this one is more quickly absorbed by my skin, whereas the Hydration one stays longer on the surface of the skin and leaves a rather wet feeling, which disappears about 30 secs to a minute. Despite the SPF content on this one, it doesn't leave a white cast and is pretty much unobtrusive even when you top it with foundation.
Celeteque DermoScience Sun Care  Facial Mousturizer with SPF 15//Price: I forgot, but it's less than Php 150.00 :)
I Got It From : Watsons
It's fragrance-free but it does have a light scent. One concern that I have about this product though is that it contains octinoxate, and this ingredient seems to have a bad rep, as opposed to its more natural counterparts such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
Ingredients and details of Celeteque DermoScience Moisturizer with SPF 15
Here's a comparison of a dollop of the Sun Care Moisturizer and the Hydration Moisturizer. Don't get me wrong though, even if I say that I like the Sun Care one, I'm still okay with the Hydration one and I will go for it when my skin is feeling is a bit dry.

Celeteque DermoScience Sun Care Matte Moisturizer with SPF 30
Meanwhile, I got this one from Sample Room and I ordered it out of curiosity. After all, like I said, I am oily-skinned and it could be a good match for my skin's needs. It turns out that this product is a let down. It doesn't feel matte on the skin - I could barely tell the difference between the Sun Care Facial Moisturizer and the Matte Moisturizer when applied on my skin. Well, the difference is that the Matte Moisturizer is not easily absorbed.
These babies are just samplers from  Sample Room :)
The Matte Moisturizer (the one on top) has a consistency akin to a sunscreen and it leaves white trails on the skin.
On this photo, half of my face is applied with the Matte Moisturizer and half is applied with the non-matte one. I know there's not much difference but...
..take a look at the sides. One side doesn't look lovely and I bet you know which side it is. :)
Need I say more? Sun Care Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 for the win! And also the Hydration Facial Moisturizer while we're at it. :)

Carissa

Follow me here in Blogspot!
The pink and yellow hues of the packaging of my latest Sample Room picks just makes me feel giddy and girly. So while I'm at it, here's a sneak peek of the three products. I got them at the start of this month and as usual, I was happy to see the familiar Sample Room bag arrive at my doorstep. These products will be very useful for the next couple of months, especially the one that I got for my daughter.

Without further ado, here they are!

Drum rolls for product number 1...

Cathy Doll Whitening Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++
Price: Php 299.00, 60 ml
Whitening and sun protection rolled into one. Thanks Cathy Doll!
"This cream from Cathy Doll guarantees that your skin will be bright and spot-free. Containing L-Glutathione and SPF50 PA+++, its high-definition UV protection and whitening ingredients immediately brightens your skin and penetrates skin layers fast to minimize dryness, ward off heat and deliver an intense cooling sensation."
-text from www.sampleroom.ph

I got a full-sized sample, hooray! I'm really excited about the sun protection part of this product more than the whitening part. Morena and proud here! ;) But if it would be able to remove dark spots and keep my skin moisturized, why not? I will be road testing this one and review is coming soon!

Product number 2, coming up!

Johnson's Active Kids Shiny Drops Shampoo
Price: Php 131.00, 200 ml
Hope this keeps away the bad hair days!
"Everyone knows that babies need special care for their hair. But did you know that toddler hair is still sensitive? Even if your little princess is already active, her hair is still thinner and more prone to damage compared to adult hair. It’s prone to tangles, damage, and brittleness.

The new Shiny Drops™ shampoo is infused with Argan Oil so that it can make your hair shine like a princess like adult shampoo, but it is also mild with its No More Tears™ formula."
-text from www.sampleroom.ph

Another full sized sample! And it's huge! Double hooray! I grabbed this one because my daughter would  be attending kindergarten school this month and she will be more active than usual. I'm loving the gentleness of this product because my daughter really hates it when her eyes get stung by bath product. No tears and stings from this one. It is also lightly scented and although at the end of the day, even if the scent is gone her hair doesn't smell like sweat.

...And last but not the least, product number 3!

Celeteque Matte Moisturizer with SPF 30
Price:
Don't they look so cute? Sample-sized Celeteque moisturizers.
I couldn't find the deets about this product at the Sample Room Page or the Celeteque page but I have recently purchased the Celeteque DermoScience Sun Care Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 and I think that there would be similarities between these two products. These babies will have an edge though because of the higher SPF content and oily-skinned gals will be benefited because of the matte finish promise.

I will write  a blog post comparing the two in the future. Watch out for that!

****
I'm glad that I picked these products since they will all be very useful for a mom and a skin care junkie like me.
Thanks Sample Room! My points are close to 200 now and being a member for more than four years has had its perks.
This current order could have cost me more or less Php 500.00 but since I got them from Sample Room they're absolutely free. I just paid Php 150.00 for the shipping.

I'm looking forward to reviewing these products and getting another haul from Sample Room.

XO,
Carissa
There are no Watsons outlets in the Northern Samar area so whenever I come across one when I visit Leyte, I make sure I grab some beauty essentials. This ain't much of a haul, really! I'm still kuripot (spend-thrift) in some ways so I make sure that I get some bang for my bucks. (^_^)

Check out my haul from Watsons and I am also sharing quick reviews/opinions about each of the products. Sit tight!

NICHIDO FINAL POWDER - IVORY GLOW
Size: 25g//Price: Php 150.00
Check out Ivory Glow's fine powder.
I've been looking forward to getting my hands on this powder. Why, some bloggers have been comparing this one's performance to THE Laura Mercier Loose Powder's. That's crazy because the Mercier costs thousands (in Philippine currency) while this Nichido one costs Php 150.00 (about 3 dollars). I may never ever splurge that much for a tub of transluscent powder but with this one at Php 150.00, I basically had nothing to loose. Turns out, getting the Nichido Final Powder in Ivory Glow is one of the best powder purchasing decisions I've ever made in my life. I use the Nichido Final Powder for baking on my face. It's cheap so I can afford to be generous during baking LOL! My skin is crazy oily and I won't say that the powder totally controls the oiliness. What I love about it is that at the end of the day, when I check the mirror when I'm about to go home, I still look great! Laura Mercier dupe or not, this Nichido powder is for keeps.

MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS 💓COLOR IN CHERRY KISS
Price: Php 88.00
Cherry Kiss for a natural flush of color.
It's good to have dozens of lipstick choices but sometimes, we just feel like reaching for something light and well, kinder to our lips I should say. Haha. Case in point: a lip balm gives our lips a much needed rest from that favorite matte lipstick, while still giving a subtle hint of color. That's exactly what I had in mind when I grabbed this Maybelline Baby Lips Loves Color Lip Balm in Cherry Kiss. It's a coral-ish shade; I wish it were pinker but anyway, I still love it!

CELETEQUE DERMOSCIENCE HYDRATION ALCOHOL-FREE TONER & CELETEQUE DERMOSCIENCE HYDRATION FACIAL WASH
These are both less than a hundred pesos each.
I already reviewed these two last month. You can read it here: Review: Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Traveler's Kit.

CELETEQUE DERMOSCIENCE SUN CARE FACIAL MOISTURIZER WITH SPF 15
Price: Php 150.00
Just a comparison of the two Celeteque Moisturizers I've tried. The Celeteque Moisturizer "With No SPF" here is actually the one from the Hydration Set
It's a light-weight moisturizer that is easily absorbed by the skin. I'm surprised that it didn't feel greasy at all, it feels cool on the skin! And of course, it has SPF and is fragrance-free.

NICHIDO EYEBROW GEL & BEAUTY FIX PEAL-OFF MASK
Nichido Clear Eyebrow Gel Price: Php 88.00//BeautyFix Peel-Off Mask Price: Php 27.00-ish
I grabbed another Nichido product: the Clear Eyebrow Gel and not the tinted one because it's cheaper haha! Kidding aside, I would really want my brows to look more natural and not too made up, that's why. So far, so good. It does the job well of keeping those unruly hairs on check.

I also have here the BeautyFix Peel-Off Mask Oil Control and Detoxify. And that's me using the mask as shown in the photo. I was actually surprised that it's a black colored mask. So you're supposed to use it after washing your face with warm water. After 20 mins, you can peel off the mask. It honestly stung a bit during peeling. Anyway, it took away the oiliness so I'm doing this again soon. I didn't consume the whole sachet though; I think I can use it for three times more.

'Sup!

So that's about it. If you have any more questions about the products, you can hit the comment section. And I am definitely grabbing another Nichido Final Powder in Ivory Glow when I get the chance.

XO,

Celeteque DermoScience, despite the foreign-sounding name, is a Filipino brand. It is produced by INNOVITELLE INC., a subsidiary of the United Laboratories Inc., more popularly known by its abbreviation UNILAB, the company that has also brought us Biogesic, Bioflu, and Myra, among others.

I saw this Hydration Traveler's Basics at a local Mercury Drug. I decided to purchase it because I was running low on toner and at Php 140.00 (about $3.00 USD), I would also be able to try the entire set, which includes a facial wash and a moisturizer. Each of the tube or bottle contains about 25 mL of product which I think is enough for me to decide if I would buy the full size or not. Let's check 'em out after the jump.

Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Traveler's Basics: Facial Wash, Toner and Facial Moisturizer
My skin isn't exactly the dry type but I do know that all skin types need hydration and moisturization. I'm more of the oily gal but I only get pimples about once or twice a month.

Here are the details about each of the products included in the set.

The deets
Ingredients
CELETEQUE DERMOSCIENCE HYDRATION FACIAL WASH
Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Facial Wash
"...has a combination of mild cleansing agents and Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) also found in the skin to gently yet effectively clean while improving the skin's moisture level."

You can probably see in the photo that this facial wash comes in a clear orange-colored liquid form, a bit runny actually. I couldn't exactly point out how it smells like but it's just a light scent; comparable to the scent of a minty toothpaste or a soap maybe, but just muted down a bit. It gives off minimal amount of bubbles when used on the face. After washing it off, there's a feeling that traces of it are left on the face but that feeling dissipates after a while and skin feels squeaky clean and supple at the same time.

CELETEQUE DERMOSCIENCE HYDRATION FACIAL MOISTURIZER
Celeteque Dermoscience Hydration Facial Moisturizer
"...has a unique hydrogel formulation that provides the skin with optimum hydration without the greasy after-feel. Its triple moisturizing system contains Glycerin, Pro-Vitamin B5, and Aloe Vera that works deep down to provide lasting relief from skin dryness. It also has Dimethicone that seals in the skin's moisture."

This one come in a gel type that is easily absorbed by the skin. Indeed, I love how my skin felt moisturized without the greasy feel. It literally just melts into the skin upon contact.

CELETEQUE DERMOSCIENCE HYDRATION TONER
Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Alcohol-Free Toner
"...contains Witch Hazel Extract to soothe the skin while it removes the last traces of stubborn dirt."
I like how this toner doesn't sting and doesn't make the skin feel dry. It is also very lightly scented and smells like the facial wash.

***
I am definitely going to buy the full-sized toner since I prefer alcohol-free formulation for my face. I also would like to buy the moisturizer when I run out of it because I loved how it made my skin feel soft. I also loved the simplicity of it - no whitening stuff. Just a basic moisturizer to make the skin feel supple and hydrated.
I also discovered that Celeteque DermoScience actually has an online shop:

That just makes shopping easier, don't it? You can also buy the Celeteque makeup line from that website so that's a thrill!

XO,

Carissa
Here's a photo of my bare face, and I have used the Celeteque set. I know I have a huge problem with my baggies but I consider it a good day if I woke up with no pimples. :)
