My Take
Regrets...I've had a few. If I can fix a skin care mistake in the past, it would be that I would pay more attention to wearing sunscreen. I always thought that SPF on makeup was enough but recent readings have made me realize the importance of having a dedicated protection from UVA and UVB rays. I hope to the gods that it's not too late to make amends.

One of the main reasons though why I veered away from sunscreens is that I always associated it with being sticky or greasy. I also felt that it causes breakouts. I've been dabbling with different sunscreen brands within my budget during the past year and I am thrilled that I've found something wonderful in Belo SunExpert's Face Cover. I was able to try out different varieties from Belo due to my membership with Sample Room but I missed this one and I regret not discovering this item a long time ago.

It comes in a cream form and I feared that it might be too heavy or sticky. But as soon as I blended it out on my skin, it is well absorbed and it doesn't feel heavy at all. I have oily skin and as a matter of preference, I am fine with the dewy finish that it leaves. It feels comfortable even if I wear primer or foundation on top and it doesn't leave a weird white cast (see photo above). More importantly, I'm glad that it didn't break me out. I've read  that we should wear at least SPF 30 so this definitely fits the bill and it also provides broad spectrum coverage. They say that the best sunscreen is the one that you will wear every day and yes, I feel comfortable wearing this one on a daily basis. What else can I say? Repurchases are in order, preferably in a bigger tube this time.

Will I buy it again? Definitely!
Will I recommend it? Yes!

XO,
Carissa
These aren't exactly fresh. I got these products at the end of 2019. Can you believe it?
It's been four months and I'm only blogging about them now. What a slacker!
Well anyways, I have more time to blog these days. And as you can probably see... I'm on a roll. ;)
I've been posting at least once a week. I'm meaning to do more. Bringing back my 2017 level of blog productivity. Oh yeah!
Working on a skeletal shift has it's benefits. I've also been doing lots of DIY stuff these days.
So, let's move on to the topic at hand: these are the latest products that I got from Sample Room.
I prefer getting skin care or daily essentials from them because I am practical that way.
You know, it seems that no matter what happens, I will never not use skin care products.
So this time, I got me a toner (because I will never skip toning), a sunscreen (because, duh), and a face mask (no, not THAT COVID-related mask).
Check 'em out after the jump! ;)
Belo Essentials AcnePro Treatment Toner
Price: Php 79.75 for 60 mL
What is it? What does it do?
An anti-acne toner that is infused with Purified Bee Venom which is clinically proven to treat mild to moderate acne and reduce inflammation. It unclogs congested pores & dries up pimples, reduces inflammation and red marks and soothes skin from irritation. It is oil-free, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic.

My Take
When I read the details of this toner, it felt like this is THE ONE made for me. Those ⬆️ are the skin problems that I always encounter, albeit not on a large scale. And I enjoyed using every single bit of this product because it really helped in calming down the zits and the oiliness. What saddens me is that this isn't the usual Belo toner that I see in the local stores because I've only seen the pink and orange ones. I haven't spotted this toner in town. If it were available, I'm pretty sure I would always purchase this one.
Rating: 4.5/5

Vitapack Whitening UV Sunscreen
Price: Php 449 for 40 mL
What is it? What does it do?
It is a soft cream that protects the skin from harmful UV rays to prevent premature skin ageing while keeping the skin light and moisturized. It is infused with antioxidants in Sunflower Oil and Vitamin E to nourish, speed up rejuvenation and even out skin tone, and Sodium Hyaluronate to plump up skin for a lightweight, non-sticky and water-resistant finish.
Vitapack Whitening UV Sunscreen ingredients and other details
My Take
I've always associated suncreens with stickiness so I was overjoyed when I road tested the Vitapack Whitening UV Sunscreen. It comes in a creamy formula but when applied to the skin, it leaves a matte finish. It also spreads easily on the skin so it's hassle-free. It makes the skin look smooth and at times, I would apply it and skip the bb cream or liquid foundation and just top it with powder. Even when I sweat out, my skin doesn't look oily or sticky. The label says that it is water-resistant, however I was not able to try it out because swimming got canceldt because of COVID19, so I won't be able to make a sound comment on that aspect.

The BIG problem that I had is that I believe it has been causing my pimples on my temple area. I used this a lot earlier this year and I kept having pimples on the same area. And then I stopped using it for a while, but not because I suspected that it was causing me pimples but just because I had other products to try out. And then a week ago, I used this because I was in a hurry to go out and it was the only sun protecting product I could grab. And voila, within that day, I had a painful red bump and I am still currently dealing with it. So. And there isn't a chance that I'll be using this sunscreen again because it is about to reach the end of its life, according to the label.
Rating: 3/5 (Truly, I wanted to love it, but.)

What is it? What does it do?

My Take
The first few days of May has been rough on me. These aren't exactly huge problems but it's been stressful that I couldn't take it any longer: I had to pamper myself a bit. So I grabbed this mask. As I pried it from the protective film that was covering it and tried to put it on my face, the first thing I noticed about it was that the material was too thin. I wasn't too gentle but I didn't exert too much force and I seem to have stretched the mask so easily that the hole for my left eye was bigger than the one for the right. When I tried to adjust it, it kept stretching that the mask became too big for my face. The only solution for me was to try to make it fit by crumpling some parts of the mask. WHAT A MESS! But after wearing it for 30 minutes, I felt nothing but appreciation for how soft and bouncy my face was. It still felt that way even the next day. I could have given it a better rating if it wasn't so difficult for me to use. Rating 3.5/5 (I loved it, but...)

And now it's time to calculate how much these products cost versus how much I spent to get them.
Belo Essentials Acne Pro Treatment Toner   -  Php   79.75
Vitapack Whitening UV Sunscree                   - Php 449.00

Total                                                                  - Php 677.95

I got all of these items for only Php 150.00 because of the shipping fee.
Isn't it that a delight?
Thank you again Sample Room! Until next transaction!

XO,
caRissa ♥️

I believe PAG-ASA has officially announced the end of the summer season in the Philippines and I just realized that I haven't reviewed this product yet. (^^,) I still have tons of products from Sample Room for review but I really take time to get to know a product well.

So here's a review of the Belo SunExpert After Sun Gel, which really came handy after a recent beach trip.

Keep you skin lookin' Belo-beautiful. :)
This one came with my latest loot from Sample Room, which I featured in this sneak peek: Sneak Peek Sample Room Second Haul for 2017.

Flashback to #SummerFeels

Now that summer's over and we encounter a few rain clouds here and there, we can only say "those were the days". However, great memories last forever, and thankfully I was able to capture the blueness of the skies and the hotness of the afternoon sun on this photo. Imagine yourself baking under le soleil and soaking up all the UVs. You will surely get sunburns by the end of the day.

However, I used these products from Belo SunExpert so I never had burns. I was so happy with the sun protection offered by these Belo products but I never really thought that there's a need for such a thing as an after sun gel. I didn't even know they existed. So when I came across it at Sample Room, I just knew that I had to try it out myself.

So, What Does It Do?

Belo SunExpert After Sun Gel can soothe sunburn and inflammation with its nourishing formula that is infused with almond oil and skin vitamins. It relieves sun-stressed skin from UV radiation damage, restores natural skin moisture, and hydrates dry or rough skin. It is also hypoallergenic, paraben-free, and dermatologist-tested.

Usage: Apply and massage a generous amount on face or body immediately after sun exposure. Re-apply as needed.

Truth be told, I don't have any memory of getting sunburns. Maybe I had them when I was little but the closest that I've had to a bad after sun exposure experience is having that hot, tingling skin-sensation. When I used the Belo SunExpert After Sun Gel for the first time, that's how I came to appreciate the importance of having after sun care.

The Belo SunExpert After Sun Gel comes in a watery gel form. You can see from the photo below that it even becomes more watery as it comes in contact with the skin.

A dollop of the product.
After application
As you blend it, it disperses and leaves the skin  watery and well-moisturized. It also gives a cooling sensation. It really hydrates dry and rough skin and it also refreshes and relaxes it. Again, I didn't have any existing sunburns when I used this product so I can't prove nor disprove if it will be okay on sunburns, especially if the skin is already inflamed. It does contain Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil or sweet almond oil which has tons of benefits for the skin. Source

Ingredients

Packaging
So the product comes in a yellow tube, standard packaging for the Belo SunExpert line. The gold-colored screw cap closes up well. I've carried this product in my purse several times and I've never had issues with the packaging. It's pretty sleek actually and just fits into my small makeup bag. The product is dispensed via this pointed nozzle that has a small hole so you have good control of how little product should come out.

Swatch
Sorry for the photo mix up. That photo on the right is a dollop of the Belo SunExpert Perfecting Shield Tinted Sunscreen and photo on the left is when it was blended out.

In Action
Me me me me me. Barefaced vs one layer of the Belo SunExpert Perfecting Shieled Tinted Sunscreen on my face.
The Belo SunExpert Tinted Sunscreen has a creamy consistency, similar to that of bb creams. It's not runny, just creamy. It has a light scent but I can't quiet determine if it's floral or otherwise, rest assured that it's a light scent that is not bothersome at all when you're wearing the tinted sunscreen.

So, I bet you can see the kind of coverage that it offers based on the photos. First of all, the color is kind of off since it's obviously too light for my skin tone. It covered lightly some of my blemishes, evened out my skin tone and lightened my dark circles but I know how weird it looks on my skin. The SPF content is also quiet high at 50, which I guess explains why I have a white cast on my face.

White cast and tone mismatch aside, I still give praises for this product's sun protection capacity. I've worn this to the beach and it significantly helped prevent sunburns and skin darkening. I also used this on my daughter's face and thank God she didn't get any sunburns. My husband, who spends so many hours outdoors due to his job also uses this on his face and I swear he gets no sunburns and he has minimal skin darkening. I go for light application on him though because I know that my husband wouldn't want the white cast any more than I would.

To Sum Up
Because it doesn't match my skin tone well, I prefer using this to the beach, rather than using this to the office for example because it really looks unflattering on me. It has light coverage, so sometimes I also use this when I'm running errands when I just need something to lighten up my dark circles or for evening out my skin tone.

I also oil up a lot, so I make sure that I set this with a powder, except of course when I'm using this to the beach. (^_^) Ha ha

What do I say? I love having this one around even if I don't use it that often. It's SPF content is superior at 50, and I love the protection it gives me against skin aging. Even when applied sheer, it can even out my skin tone. I would definitely repurchase it for it's sun protection capacity.

XO,

Carissa

PS. Here's a review of the Belo SunExpert Ultra Gentle Sheer Spray with SPF 50 which I also love using.

That title sure is a mouthful! Ha ha!. I decided to hit two birds with one stone today. Or two stories in one blog post would be more like it. :) We went to the beach this weekend, and the weather was really fine. And the sun could literally burn you.  I suddenly remembered (silly me!) that I had this almost unused Belo SunExpert Ultra Gentle Spay SPF 50 and figured out that this day was the perfect time to use it. I mean, I had no other options because I just consumed all my other  sunblocks. (^,^)
Here's my 5th order from Sample Room during my VIP Membership.
The Deets
Full Size: 140ml//Price: PHP 539.75
"Belo’s very first kid-friendly product. Belo SunExpert Ultragentle Sheer Spray SPF50 and PA+++ is specially formulated sunscreen that is gentle enough for kids yet effective and strong enough to protect everyone in the family. Its ultragentle formulation provides effective broad-spectrum protection against harmful UV rays. Its Cell Protect® formula strengthens the skin’s defense system and actively prevents accelerated premature skin aging.

Belo SunExpert Ultragentle Sheer Spray SPF50 and PA+++ is hypoallergenic, dermatologist- tested, and paraben-free. It is also non-sticky and quick-drying, and works immediately upon application."

The Verdict
I think I got this one last February from Sample Room. It comes in a pressurized can container and sprays with a fizz. When I tried it back then I didn't like it very much. It felt sticky and oily when applied to the skin and therefore felt rather uncomfortable. I also don't like the scent of it; I dunno, it's almost like petroleum to me. And so it kind of stayed with the pile of unused stuff in the dresser. Lo and behold it was resurrected last weekend.
The details and lists of ingredients, etc.
Sprayed and spread on my arm. I know that it doesn't look oily or sticky in the photo but it does look and feel that way in person.
So those are the details about the product, written on the labels. I followed the instructions and didn't spray it directly on the face of my kid, but rather I sprayed it on my hands and spread on her face. I feels cool on the skin upon spraying and then you can immediately feel that it's sticky and oily, even if it says in the label that it's not sticky.

What amazed me though was that, at the end of the day, even if my daughter stayed up to 5 hours under the sun, even if babad na babad sya, there were no signs of sunburns. As in, none at all. Her skin also did not turn as dark as it used to whenever she got exposed in the sun for long periods; back then I used a different kind of sunblock. As for me, I think I only spent about  2 hours under the sun and I am happy that my skin also didn't turn very dark and I didn't get sunburns.

So that's how I was compelled to write a review. If you can go beyond the sticky and oily feeling, and the little not so nose-friendly scent, I think this product is good in protecting your skin from sunburns. Anyway, when you start taking a dip in the water, you would hardly notice the sticky/oily feeling. I don't think I can put up with the uncomfortable feeling of wearing this everyday so I think this one is best used in the beach. Anyway, the product expires in 2018 so there's plenty of time to use this for all the family outings. LOL.

Meanwhile, here are some photos of our fun time at the beach.

The little girl in the center is my Celestine. <3 <3 <3
Tin meets a little sea urchin for the first time. She puts up a poker face but I think she's amazed.
Daddy finds a sea urchin just off the beach. He took it back to the sea after showing it to us.
I leave you now with a photo of me, daddy and Celestine, the beach bums. :)

Love lots,

This proudly Pinoy brand always has something new and exciting for us to try. Take a look at some of the products from the Intensive Whitening line from Belo. I got all of these from Sample Room.

The Belo Intensive Whitening Squad.
These products boast of 2 active ingredients that help intensify skin whitening.

Kojic Acid

An organic compound that effectively inhibits the production of tyrosinase and melanin, giving skin a visibly lighter appearance.

Tranexamic Acid
A peptide proven to inhibit inflammation and melanin formation. It is ideal for stubborn dark spots that do not respond to other skin lightening ingredients.

So let's take a look at these products from Belo and how about a quick Yay! and Nay! for each of them.

Size: 50 ml//Price: Php 349.75
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream
Instantly covers blemishes and imperfections as it works to intensely whiten skin. Use alone for a flawless no makeup look, or layer under your favorite foundation or powder.
Close up look of the Belo BB Cream
Here's my go-to BB Cream for the greater part of this summer. It lightens the skin as it protects from the sun's harmful rays.
Yay!
No strong scent
High SPF Content
Tone correcting and evening properties
Affordability
Easy to apply and spreads easily on skin
Nay!
Medium coverage only, you would need a backup concealer
May not be advisable for those with oily skin

                                      Belo Intensive Whitening Bar
Size: 65g //Price: Php 64.75
The new Belo Intensive Whitening Bar combines the power of Kojic Acid, Tranexamic Acid and Lemon Scrubs. As many of you may have already experienced, the Kojic Acid and Tranexamic Acid combo are efficient actives that are clinically proven to whiten skin 64% better than products that contain Kojic Acid alone.
Close up look of the Belo Intensive Whitening Bar
This product does sting the skin a bit upon using which I guess is due to the acids doing their part in the whitening process. But other than that, I didn't experience any irritation whatsoever. I can compare this from the previous version and the exfoliating lemon stuff is a nice upgrade.

Yay!
Light scent
Exfoliating properties, skin feels smooth and clean after every use

Nay!
Melted rather really easily, I only used the product a couple of times and it was already gone, LOL!

Belo Intensive Whitening Body Cream
Size: 150 ml// Price: Php 199.75
The perfect complement to the Kojic Bar, the new Belo Intensive Whitening Body Cream (Lotion), with Kojic Acid & Tranexamic Acid that intensively whitens skin. It has SPF 30 that protects skin against harmful UV rays.
Close up look of the Belo Body Cream
I hate lotions that feel heavy and greasy on the skin like ick!!! This one is heaven-sent. It's not just the whitening that's intense but the moisturization as well.

Yay!
Intense moisturization without the greasy feel
SPF Content
Keeps the skin smoother and lighter
Light scent

Nay!
None for me :)

Leave it to Belo to always have something for us Pinays in the whitening department. Not so long ago I wished for a BB Cream and now they have it, with SPF 50 no less. In truth, I am not one of those so obsessed with skin whitening. I am more after on the sun protecting capacity of  a product. But if you can hit 2 birds with one stone, why not, ayt?

XO,

Carissa
