Hey!!! Last time, I did a skin care roundup involving my facial cleansers/washes.
This time, I've rounded up all the makeup removers in various formulas currently in my stash. I also mentioned my empties, just because they were good and are really worth the mention.
Once upon a time, I didn't bother with makeup removers. I just washed my face with whatever, maybe with a facial wash that was not pH balanced. Yikes! Never again. I've reaped the benefits of being careful with what I put on my face and I am never going back.
I've learned about the pre-cleansing stage because of the Korean Skin Care Regimen. Although I don't do the full ten steps, I believe that the first and second steps are really necessary.
So here are the pre-cleansers or makeup removers that I bought last year. I will try to consume them all first before moving on to other products.
Hope you enjoy reading the quick reviews!
L-R: 2 bottle of Pond's Brightening Micellar Water, Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover, Klorane Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover, Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup-Melt Butter Cleanser with the Bamboo Extract Charcoal Powder.
Bottom: Banila Co. Zero Clean It Cleansing Balm
Currently Using
Pond's White Beauty Brightening Micellar Water/Price: Php 99.00 for 100 mL/Where To Buy: Mercury Drugs
I think I am currently on my fourth bottle of this micellar water. Needless to say, I think I am pretty much "hiyang" with this product. Personally, I am okay with my micellar water being just that: something for removing makeup, no frills or extra functions needed. Pond's micellar water gives us something extra because it is infused with Vitamin B3, commonly known in skin care jargon as niacinamide which brightens the skin and tightens pores. It effectively removes makeup and my skin feels clean and fresh after using it. I think I do at least 3 passes before I get a satisfying clean. What else do I say? I will keep repurchasing it, especially that my other favorites, the Garnier and Nivea Micellar Waters are nowhere to be found in my locality atm.

Klorane Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover/Price: $16.00 for 3.3 floz /Where I Bought: My favorite seller on Instagram
This product is quiet pricey and I am glad that I was able to try it out with this travel sized bottle which I bought on Instagram. What do I say? Hmmmm. This product actually reminds me of the Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Make-up Remover. They both make use of cornflower extract, they both have plant based oil and the same blue tinge. Most of all, they are both great in melting down waterproof eye makeup with just the slightest force of swiping in the eye area. If you can't afford the Klorane one, then there's always Nivea. ;)

Coming Up
I have not yet used the following products so I can't really give a feedback for now so I'll just give an overview. They're both part of the Sephora Play! Dessert Island Essentials so they are just minis or travel-sizes:

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover/Price $19.50 for 125 mL (clinique.com)
"Dissolves and "lifts away" long-wearing makeup, even waterproof mascara. Non-irritating, non-stinging. This product is free of synthetic colors, gluten, denatured alcohol, SLS, SLES, talc. It’s also vegan."

Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser/Price: $34.00 for full size (drunkelephant.com)
"Slaai™ is an innovative cleansing balm that melts all traces of dirt, makeup and sunscreen from skin. Gentle enough to be used around the eye area, it quickly transforms from oil to milk upon contact with water. Skin compatible Slaai™ effortlessly removes even water-resistant formulations and is free of PEGs and essential oils."

Empties
Banilla Co. Clean It Zero Original/Price: Php 995.00 for 100 mL, but this one I have here is a mini so I bought it for a tiny fraction of that price/Where To Buy: www.beautymnl.com
The Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm in Original
This is a balm-type cleanser and I love how it melts into oil upon contact with my skin. It easily dissolves makeup, even hard to remove mascara. I also love the light floral scent. I get a small amount of the product and massage it on my entire face. Then I wash it off with lukewarm water to get rid of the oily feel together with my preferred facial wash for my second cleansing. No tight and dry feeling after using but instead, it keeps my skin soft and supple. Sometimes I just can't help touching my face.

Estee Lauder Take It Away Makeup Remover Lotion/Price $30.00 for full size (esteelauder.com)
The Estee Lauder Take It Away Makeup Remover Lotion
Here's another pricey product that I was able to try out because of my fave IG seller who sells travel/mini sized products, be it drugstore, mid-range or high end. All I can say is...some pricey products are pricey for a reason. This one is a gem. It is lotion type but it feels oh so light on the skin. You only need a small amount of the product to work. There is no greasy feel, and on the contrary, it leaves a cooling effect. Upon application, I really felt that the makeup was coming off without struggle. Ha ha. I could only wish that I can afford to get the full sized one. Until then, I will just make tambay on IG and wait for the next sale. Baka after the lockdown pa. 😆

***
If I were to make a rating, I would definitely give the Estee LauderTake It Away Makeup Remover something close to 5/5. The Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm is somewhere behind with a 4.5/5 above rating. All the micellar waters are 4/5+++. The Klorane Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover was so-so for me, as I have tried a similar one from Nivea that works just as well.

I know I made quick blurbs about these products and there could be some details that I have skipped so if you have any questions about any of them, feel free to drop a comment down below. ;)

Stay safe. Wash yo' hands. Wear face masks. Stay indoors.

Nivea is one of my go-to brands for body care products. They often have BOGO promos so I make sure I'm able to stock up on staples such as deodorants (his and her's) and body lotions. Recently, there's been some update on their facial skin care products and I couldn't resist trying them out because they are quiet affordable and knowing that it's from Nivea, I'm confident about the quality of the products. Check them out after the jump!

Nivea Acne Clear MicellAIR Cleanser 0% Alcohol
Price: P 99.00, 125 mL
What Is It?
Made for acne-prone skin, with its Advanced Micellar Technology, it deeply cleanses dirt, oil, and even hard-to-remove make up and brings back moisture for clear, baby soft and smooth skin. It also contains Magnolia Bark Extracts that act as an anti-inflammatory agent and which also helps prevent new acne from forming by increasing skin cells resistance to external stresses and inflammation.

My Take
It seems that every skin care brand is jumping on the Micellar Water bandwagon. I'm down for it though. More competition means more innovation and often it brings the prices down too. ;) But of course we have to be critical. Getting cheaper products doesn't always mean getting the best deal because all products have pros and cons.

True to its claims, Nivea MicellAIR Water really feels gentle on the skin but packs a punch when it comes to dirt and makeup removal. There's no stingy or sticky feeling when using it. I've tried other Micellar Waters that do not feel clean enough because I feel that there is residue left by the micellar water itself. Although I prefer washing my face with a foam cleanser after using a micellar water, if it comes to a point where I am too tired or too lazy at the end of the day, I would say that it would be okay for me to not double cleanse because using the Nivea MicellAIR Water already makes my skin feel clean enough. But it's for just such occasions, okay. I still prefer double cleansing. :)
Nivea MicellAIR Water Benefits, Details, Description and Ingredients List
I didn't break out while using this, which is always a plus in my book. It didn't dry out my skin either. My skin does feel soft and smooth after using it. The only hitch that I experienced while using it was that it had a bit of difficulty in removing mascaras. But otherwise, I love this product.

Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Make-up Remover
Price: around Php 130.00 for 125 mL; I'm not sure about the price ha, but it wasn't over Php 150.00
What Is It?
A makeup remover specifically formulated for the eye area. It contains cornflower extract and sunflower seed oil and promises to remove waterproof mascara and makeup.

My Take
I may have just been wishful thinking when I said that it would be great if Nivea would also come up with a makeup remover exclusively for the eye area. And voila! Here it is! Unlike the Nivea MicellAIR Water which comes in a clear formula, this one is blue-tinged and you can see where the watery and the oily components meet, or end, depending on how you'd like to view it. LOL. But it's best if you shake it to mix them up.
Nivea  Daily Essentials Eye Make-up Remover Details and Ingredients
I could bore you out with words but instead of doing that, I would just show you a photo comparing the cleaning capabilities of the two products when used in the eye area. On your left it the cotton pad with the Nivea MicellAIR Water and on your right is the cotton pad with the Nivea Eye Make-up Remover. I had a mascara on plus I also smudged some dark eyeshadow. Needless to say, the Nivea Eye Make-up Remover is the clear winner.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but not for the mean time, as I would love to try other eye makeup removers, especially the one from Garnier.

NIVEA Acne Clear Whip Foam 0% Alcohol contains Carnitine which regulates oil production & deeply clears pores and skin. It promises gentle cleansing, for baby soft and smooth skin.

My Take
What exactly do you look for in a cleanser? It has to be able to do its job of course, which is to take off the dirt and grime at the end of the day. However, I've become wary about trying out facial cleanser ever since I started experiencing some breakouts whenever I try out a new product. Until this day, I still don't know if which one in the ingredients list is making my skin react that way. So I'm always "fingers crossed" whenever I try out a new product, especially a facial cleanser because it's a make or break situation.

To cut the chase, let's just say that the Nivea Acne Clear Whip Foam have made it to my "Facial Cleansers That Do Not Make Me Breakout List". Thank God! What I love to do when using this product is to form a foam first on my hand by mixing it with water and then I just let it lather on my wet face. I love using this after removing my makeup with the two products mentioned above and they really go hand in hand in the cleaning process. By the time I put on my toner, there's barely any dirt left. True to its promise, my skin feels thoroughly cleansed without feeling dry. That's probably the negative aspect about it: my skin feels baby soft and smooth that I can't help but touch it a lot.

I walked past this gift package at a local Mercury Drug and I couldn't resist getting myself one. At Php 153.00, don't miss a chance to self gift.  Ha ha! It's also the perfect chance to try these products and see which ones are worth buying in full size. Let's take a peek!

NIVEA WHITE FIRMING SERUM SPF 33
Its light, non sticky formula helps whiten and repair 10 signs of dull, damaged skin.
Price: About Php 123.00
You know I'm a sucker for the light weight + non greasy/sticky + with SPF kind of lotion so this one fits the bill just right. It's also loaded with other benefits to fight the signs of skin damage. What's not to love? This lightly scented body serum is definitely packed with a punch! Check out the other details of this product on the following photos.

EXTRA WHITENING DEO SPRAY 35 ML
For intensely white and smoother underarms.  With the perfect combination of reliable 48H anti-perspirant protection and Nivea's mild care.

I think I've only used this for a couple of times so I cannot vouch about the whitening capabilities of this Nivea Extra Whitening Deo Spray. However I love the cold feeling upon spraying this on your underarm; it's like getting a jumpstart! It also smells really good so I prefer not to put other perfumes or colognes when I am using this and you won't be experiencing any wet, uncomfortable feeling throughout the day.

Nivea Extra Whitening Deo Spray Ingredients
STRAWBERRY & MILK CARE SOAP
Milk proteins gently cleanse and pamper your skin, while the mild scent of strawberries leaves it delicately scented.

Of course, no essentials set would be complete without the most basic stuff. Case in point: a soap. And it's a no-frills one! No whitening stuff. If you love strawberry and milk scents, you'll love this one.

NIVEA CREME 10 ML
An all-over body moisturizer for every skin type, NIVEA Creme is perfect when the skin is dry or needs extra care.
Price: Php 69.00 30 mL Tin
Annnnd... I saved the best for last. This is undoubtedly Nivea's most iconic product and I don't think I need to sing praises about this one. The Nivea Creme's long standing existence and popularity can speak for itself. I'm just extra glad that I have this in it's handiest size and it can fit in any purse.

Nivea Creme Ingredients
Like I said, Nivea's most iconic product is definitely the Creme in a blue tin. The word Nivea itself conjures images of the Creme in my mind. But over the years, Nivea has innovated with its product line. You can check out www.nivea.ph for a complete lineup. I'm definitely getting myself a bigger version of that Creme when I run out, which won't be long since I've been moisturizing my hands with it, basically anywhere 'coz I've always got it in my pocket. I'm also currently using the Extra Whitening Roll-on and I'm loving it's scent.

Got any favorite Nivea product?
