Here's a review of some Wet n Wild products which I got from a set called Holiday Eye Candy. Loves, I know how far away we are from the holidays such as New Year or Christmas but, holidays come back and happen every year so I just figured I'll post this review anyway. 😀 
So hustle up, buttercup and let's get this show on the road. 

Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette
Shade: 738 Comfort Zone

The palette contains eight pans of eyeshadows which are color coordinated. Wet n Wild even goes as far as embossing on the shadow if which one is for the browbone, etc., which comes very handy during application. For this palette, called Comfort Zone, the pans on the left side go for the bronzy hues, while the shades on the right bring in the variety, especially with the olive green color and that definer shade on the bottom right which when swatched is a duochrome of brown and blue.


Take a look at the swatches. The brown hues look something like I would wear on any normal, office day and not really on a holiday. I love the duochrome on the bottom right. It really adds the drama.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette In Action
Here are some eyeshadow looks I created using this palette, my kid being the willing model. Honestly I can't say that this is what I'd wear for a holiday makeup. More like nature fairy makeup because of the green and earth tones and all of those spackles.

My Take/Ratings
All of the shadows have shimmers and pearly satin finishes which might not sit well with some who prefer matte shadows. No transition shades here. The shadows feel buttery soft and pigmentation is also great. However, they do fall out and the staying power is not very great. The glitters/shimmers look chunky on some of the shades too. ❤️❤️❤️/💜💜💜💜💜

Wet n Wild Photofocus Eyeshadow Primer

I have the travel-sized eyeshadow primer here which contains 5 mL of product. I wasn't able to take a photo of the product itself but it is tinted beige with pasty consistency. The tint is ideal for cancelling out the darkness on the lids. *See photo below*


 My Take/Ratings
I was very excited to try this one out because I have never tried and eyeshadow primer before. I ended up being disappointed however. Yes, it cancels out the darkness of the eyelids and renders a smooth canvas for application of eyeshadow. However, have you heard of the line "Don't let anyone dull your sparkle"? Because that is what exactly came to my mind when I applied an eyeshadow on top of this primer. The shimmers seem to get lost and the color looks flat (see photo above). It does however extend the wear of the eyeshadow, I'll give it to them. I even tried running some water over it and it really stayed put with minimal fading. But I wish that along with extending the staying power it also intensified the color of the eyeshadow. ❤️❤️/💜💜💜💜💜

My Take/Ratings
The shade selection for these too kohl eyeliners is meant to correspond to the left and right shades of the eyeshadow palette. I wasn't too interested with these two kohl pencils that they were actually the last ones I tried out in this bunch. But they ended up being my favorites in this set. Because, look at the swatches. They are lovely and translate well when applied. Yes there was a little bit of tug at first when I used them but I tried applying them first at the back of my hand to warm them up and then they just glide on smoothly. Sometimes I even skip the whole eyeshadow thing and just smudge these liners on my upper lash line. I also love applying the bronzy one my inner eye corner it just instantly brightens up the area.  ❤️❤️❤️❤️/💜💜💜💜💜

My Take
Anyone who sees this palette thinks that it's a bar of chocolate. Needless to say, I love how sleek it is. The packaging is made of sturdy cardboard which closes up tight with a magnet. It also has a cardboard sleeve which holds the whole thing together.

The color selection is in the taupe (gray-brown) range but it also includes some silvery, bronzy and plum colors.  Some colors look alright on my light-medium warm skin tone but I can imagine that they would all really look better, and even dramatic on someone who has a fairer skin tone. The shades look lovely actually and are quiet pigmented but some the colors just don't translate well on me. The powder blends well, they don't get chalky, and are easy to apply. Barely any fallout and applies smoothly on my lids. The staying power is great on me. I would apply it in the morning and even up to 6 - 7 hours it's still there.

My favorite shades are Handmade, Sheers & Voiles, Outline and Wrapped In Silk and Exquisite. They are the only ones that I can full off with my warm skin tone. They are basically fragrance-free and according to the packaging, can be used up to 36  months after opening.

To conclude, I will get myself another ZOEVA Eyeshadow Palette in a different range of colors, probably with warmer tones because I love the quality of it. I think I just got the wrong shades, LOL.

I've been using this brow palette for over a month now so I guess it's about time that I make a review. Shall I clue you in if I love this product or not? Nah. I'll save it for the end of this post. Ha ha.

MAYBELLINE NEW YORK FASHION BROWS 3D BROW & NOSE PALETTE

The Maybelline New York Fashion Brow 3D Brow & Nose Palette comes in a plastic packaging with a windowed cover so you can see what the colors are on first sight. The name is a mouthful, so from this point onward I'll just refer to it as the MNY Fashion Brow Palette. :)

 I reckon that the packaging is not too sturdy so I try to be extra careful when handling it because I don't want to break it. It's pretty small by the way: about two and a half inches in length and 1 3/4 inches in width. According to the label at the back, it contains 3 grams of product in total, so that's 1 gram per pan. The palette also includes a double ended brush: one side is slanted for applying the wax powder and the other side is a blur brush for applying the filling and sculpting powders.

Ingredients

At the back  of the palette is the list of ingredients. I don't spot any parabens but there's a phenoxyethanol and a bht. The back label also contains other details such as the manufacturing date. At the bottom right side of the sticker label is a tiny arrow that indicates that you can flip the sticker and underneath is a mini tutorial on how to use the palette.

So there are three steps here but I'm not really particular about it. Sometimes I use the wax powder alone for my brows. I use the sculpting powder for highlighting my brow bone or as base color before applying eye shadow. I use the fill powder as an eye shadow.

Swatches

Here are the swatches of this palette. The wax powder is a black brown shade, fill powder is a coffee brown shade and the last shade is somewhat a camel brown shade which barely registers on this swatch. IRL, the camel-brown shade which I love using as eye shadow base is great for covering the redness or ridding of oiliness in the lids.

In Action

On these photo sequence I'll show you how I used this palette.

 1. Just my bare brows. And my WIDE forehead. You can land a plane here, honestly.
2. I used a spoolie to tidy my brows up a bit.
3. I used the wax powder to frame the brows. See how my brows look good already.
4. Lastly, I used the fill powder to fill up my brows and the sculpting powder on my brow bones.

 Easy peasy, right?

To Sum Up
I'm so in love with this palette! It has made my life so much easier when it come to fixing my brows. I am not an expert when it comes to doing it and on most days I struggle, especially on days that I am in hurry.

 Okay, first up, the size is so compact that it doesn't take up much space in my makeup kit. When I am feeling extra minimalist, this palette can serve as my eyebrow, eye shadow and sculpting kit in one. It an do all three jobs effectively. The powders are all in matte so they can serve as contour powders, especially for the nose area.

 Secondly, the palette is very easy to use. When I received this in the mail, I was so eager to try it out and the result was amazing: I never thought I would ever be able to achieve anything close to brows on fleek. But I was able to achieve it and I was so happy. The key is to take things slowly. Visualize where your arches would be then draw it with the wax powder. Don't use too much wax powder or your brows could end up looking messy. I don't use the slanted brush included in this kit because I prefer a brush with  long handle.

 For longevity, I can say that it basically stays put the whole day. Unless you're hosed down or you scratch your brows intentionally, I think it will stay put. I don't even use a brow mascara.

 Overall, I love this product and I think this will be a permanent favorite. I'm definitely purchasing this again and I'm glad that Maybelline constantly has discounts. Well, discounted or not, I will buy this because it's very affordable. :) I hope Maybelline doesn't stop producing this.

 I think I've met my brow match.

I think this BYS Contour and Highlighting Kit has been in my makeup stash forever but I have always been  intimidated by the words Highlighting and Contouring (HAC). I looked at different HAC photos and they look so perfect and I just thought I would never be able to pull it off on my own face.

Contouring is a technique using cosmetics to define and enhance facial structure. Contouring is usually produced by placing a warm or cool toned brown colour in the hollows of the cheeks, on the side of the nose, and on the temples to give a slimming effect on the face. It can be complemented with a highlighter on the apples on the cheeks and the tip of the nose.

If I never try, I will never ever learn, ayt? Moreover, there's always room for mistakes. It's not like the world will end tomorrow. So I took this palette out and just dusted it off, sort of and started exploring and swatching the colors.



Those pans are huge, by the way. Anyone who's really addicted to contouring would be glad that there's and ample amount of powders here.

I'll discuss the colors one by one.

The first color is tagged as a bronzer but it actually works like a blusher to me. It's a light brownish-peach color with minimal glitters. The glitters don't actually register in this photo because like I said, they're very light. I love using this as a blusher and it's the most used pan in this palette. It never fails to give me a warm glow.

The second one is a brown contour powder. I like it because it has neutral undertone; no redness in it which makes it really perfect for contouring.

The third one is a bronze bronzer that I'm really scared to use on  my face because it's very metallic. So I use it with very light hand just on the peripheries of my face. I also love using it on my arms. I mix it with some body lotion for a shimmering effect.

The last one in the palette is a champagne-hued highlighter. However, because it sits next to the ultra bronze bronzer, and also because my daughter loves prying into my makeup stuff and mixing different colors, it has retained some bronze-ness in it.

Highlighting and Contouring In Action :)
For the first photo, I have just finished my foundation. I look pale and my face just looks flat. Then I start the contouring process.

Step 1: Mapping my face. So there, you can see on the second photo that I've placed the contouring powder on the key parts. I have, quiet a wide forehead so I put the contouring powder near my hairline. I also placed some on the hollow of my cheeks and on my jawline and also on the sides of my nose.

Step 2: Blend it out nice and well so that there would be no harsh lines. The third photo shows my face after the blending process. So it's the first time that I've actually taken before and after photos and I'm liking the results. Contouring does give dimensions to the face. My nose is still kinda too brown so I just kept on blending out.

Step 3: Get lit. I put the highlighter just above the cheekbones, on the bridge of the nose, on the center of my forehead and on my cupid's bow. I also added the peach bronzer/blusher on my cheeks.

Step 4: Set. The fourth photo is my finished work, after adding some setting spray.

Does it look okay? (^_^) I kinda like it. It's not perfect just yet but I know I'm getting there. For realz tho, I'm glad that I decided to learn how to highlight and contour. It's not something I would do everyday for work makeup but it would certainly come handy on days that I want to look slimmer. I'm not doing it because I'd like to look cool like Kim K; it made me look alive and glowing. Kim K or not I'm lovin' this makeup trick. 

The quality of the powders in BYS Contour and Highlighting Kit are great! They're so fine and soft and never feel chalky on the skin. The staying power is not that long though, specially if you have oily skin so I suggest using primer and setting sprays if you want it to stay put and last long.

My Take
So, I am not a beauty guru. I don't have multiple eyeshadow palettes at my disposal. So when I have one, it means that it's the one that I will be using until I hit the pan or it expires. The last eyeshadow palette that I owned was the BYS 8 Neutral Matte Palette. Like I said, I used it until I hit the pans, broke the plastic packaging and the shadows hardened and were starting to smell funny. By the time 2017 came, I knew I had to grab a new palette. The BYS palette was composed of mattes in neutral colors and I thought that if I grabbed a replacement palette I will go for one that has a combination of mattes and shimmers, in different hues. Neutrals are a practical, classic choice but I'm just a girl and I get bored too and shimmers and different colors are a perfect way to instantly change one's look.

I had my eyes on L'oreal's La Palette Nudes but it still came at Php 800.00 and I thought I could still find something more affordable. Maybelline's The Blushed Nudes looked pretty at Php 675.00 but the reviews were not so great. I stumbled upon Sleek Makeup at Zalora and I instantly got interested when I read good reviews about their eyeshadows. It was on the same price point with the MNY Blushed Nudes but to my surprise, I found a cheaper one at Shopee - just Php 550.00! Of course I was hesitant to buy but after reading great feedbacks about the Seller and the quality of the Sleek Eyeshadows, I took the risk. You can read about my first Shopee shopping experience here.

Let's just say that the risk paid off. When the package arrived, the first thing I checked was the expiry date. We're still a long way from 2019, according to the tag, so thanks goodness for that. It's made in China and I have twelve months to consume it upon opening. Check out the names of eyeshadows below.

Okay, I know the photo above is not great and it's kinda hard to figure out the shade so let's just check out the palette itself. There are twelve pans and this side here are on the lighter, pinkish sides.

Shades + Description + Comments
Bow - It's a matte vanilla shade that I wished would show up more on the swatches. I use it mostly as base to take away the oiliness of my lids. It can also be used for highlighting the brow bone.
Organza - It's a shimmery rosy pink with beautiful color payoff. Texture is buttery and doesn't fallout. It doesn't look so pink on the swatch but it is pinkish in real life. 
Ribbon - It's a matte pink that I don't really get to use very often. It has average pigmentation and powdery texture with minimal fallout.
Gift Basket - It's a shimmery brown with buttery texture and no fallout.
Glitz - It's a lovely shimmery gray-blue shade that is really glitzy in every way. Buttery texture, great color payoff and no fallout.
Celebrate - The shimmery plum! I have every reason to celebrate about this one. Quality is same as Glitz.
Pamper - It's a matte light pink that's as sheer in pigmentation as Bow and barely shows on the swatches. I've used this as a base for the other pink colors in this palette.
Gateau - Another TDF shade in this palette. It's a shimmery lilac with gold undertone. Same quality with the other shimmers.
The Mail - It's a matte peanut butter brownish color that I use mostly as base to take away the discoloration. 
Boxed - This one's a matte chocolate brown which I use mostly for drawing my brows.
Wrapped Up - Another matte dark brown which I use for contouring my lids.
Noir - The matte black which I use as an eyeliner.

Overall, Bow and Pamper are my least faves because they barely show on my skin. Ribbon and The Mail are average on my list. The rest are hits. The shimmers and the darker colors are specially lovely.

This photo of swatches are kinda washed out. In real life, the colors are really vivid with the exception of Bow and Pamper.

It's my one and only eye palette so I basically use this everyday when I go to the office. I'm glad that it has a dark chocolate brown color (Boxed) that I can use as brow powder and there's also a black one (Noir) which is perfect as an eyeliner. It's very convenient.

I don't use an eyeshadow primer underneath these but the color payoff is still vivid, except Bow and Pamper of course. I apply these in the morning and by noontime there would be fading but I rarely put on more of it. I just run a fluffy eyeshadow brush and they still look fine on me.

To sum up, I love majority of the colors, except the duds. They look lovely and the textures are great. A big plus for me would be the sturdy packaging. It doesn't seem like the the hinges will be giving  up anytime soon and thank God for that because I plan to use this for the entire year and I hope I would be able to hit the pans. That would be so satisfying. It also comes with a wide mirror underneath that cover. I'm giving this an A+ for convenience.

Despite a few duds, I really love this palette and it's one of my best eyeshadow purchases ever. This also happens to be on my favorites list for the month of February.

My Take
You can see on my photos below that I have quiet a bad case of dark under eyes and I am always on the lookout for affordable products that can correct the problem. Or if not, just help lessen it. I found out about this product while checking out the stuff at MakeUpInboxPh. I was available on pre-order and took about a month to arrive, fresh from the US. When it finally did, I was so excited to try it out.

It comes in a not-so-durable plastic packaging with a transparent cover and I recon that it can't survive a drop. It comes with a brush that actually works well with the product so I decided to keep it instead of tossing it.

It smells plasticky, but it doesn't linger. It has a creamy consistency and blends well on my baggies, even without an under-eye moisturizer. My only problem is the color pay-off of the product. And no matter how many times you layer it on, it won't give better coverage.

Here are the swatches and you can see that they are very light on my skin.

I tried using the orange on my dark under eyes. You can see that it has lightened the darkness a bit, but I think that the coverage is still not enough as it turned my under eyes into an ashy shade. I tried layering the product but it produced the same results. I tend to sweat in that area a lot so it didn't take long before the product slipped off. It's always great if you can set it with  a yellow-toned powder.

Overall, I'm not so happy with my purchase. :( I am just not contented with the coverage. But for the price, you get what you pay for. I've also tried the Green one for redness on my face due to pimples but it also  didn't perform well.

My bad though. I think I was impulsive again when making this purchase. 'Correct and Perfect',  yeah it corrected for a bit, but definitely no perfect. :)

As if I haven't made enough mentions about this product on my blog. Ha ha. Let's just say that if I adore a product, I will just keep bringing it up anyway. This one's on my July 2016 faves. I got this when I purchased the curated Matte Maven Box at Glamourbox last April-ish.

Shades Description
So if, you've seen this on BYS kiosks and you want to have closer look but unfortunately there aren't any testers, I'll gladly share the palette with you through this photo. :) There are 8 shades of it, all neutral. 

Shade 1 may look like light grey on the photo but is actually on the brown side in person. If grey and brown had a kid, this would be it.
Shade 2 seems too orange on the pan but when swatched isn't really scary and is just maybe tan actually (check swatches below).
Shade 3 is yellow, perfect for highlighting the brow bone and tone-correcting.
Shade 4 is light brown.
Shade 5 is grey, sometimes I use it as an eyeliner.
Shade 6 is the darkest brown in the bunch, chocolate brown and I love using it on the brows.
Shade 7 is also brown, just darker than shade 4 and I use it on the crease.
Shade 8 looks too white on the photo but in person it also leans on the brown side: imagine milk blended with a few drops of chocolate. Like Shade 3 it can also be used to define the brow bone but I usually dust this all over the lids before applying the dark colors just to take away the shine.

Eight neutral tones that range from light to dark brown, greys to tone-correcting yellow. All matte.
Basic to Versatile, Day to Night
The colors in this palette are very office-friendly. But the same grey, brown and taupe shades when layered and blended to perfection can give the smokey look which is perfect for night outs.

The powder can be chalky and I have experienced minimal to no fall-outs while applying this. Performance-wise, if you want this to last longer on your eyelids, you would need an eye-primer.

I think I have emphasized enough how much I love this palette. It works great and is inexpensive. Plus the pans are generously sized. I just wish that this one came with a sturdier package because this one would certainly shatter come a dropping incident. Well anyway, for the price, I think I may not complain. I just need to be careful and try to never ever drop this.Ha ha.
