Travel Diaries: The Day The Posh Siblings Came To Manila To See Britney

It was Thursday, the 15th of June.
You can also call it the day that our father was shocked that we were not kidding about going to Manila to see Britney. Or the day that our mother was all nerves because her babies (!) would be going alone (but there were three of us!) to the big city.
I would admit that I was also jittery about the whole thing and uh, well, we made it happen so now I'm (finally) going to blab about it.
Enough with the parentheticals Carissa. ;) 'Ya I know.'

Cast of Characters: L to R
Mummy Cassie: Eldest but likes to act as the youngest or the middle child. Big Britney fan.
Skinny: The second eldest but might as well be the eldest. He bankrolled the whole trip. The bigger Britney Fan.
Fluffy: The youngest in this bunch. Not sure how big a Britney fan she is but she wanted to come, so.
Our day started early at the airport.
Here we are, about to board our plane bound for MNL with the 7 am sun just shining upon us. What a good omen! We arrived to a gloomy Manila though, a little over an hour later. Yes folks, we traveled light. All we had for a hand-carry was my Longchamp bag.
Left: Before boarding the Air Asia plane in DZR Airport, Tacloban City.
Right: Just landed at the NAIA Terminal 4.
Of course, our main goal was to find the Mall of Asia Arena so here it is.
Skinny and Fluff in front of the MOA Arena.
This is pretty darn random, I don't even know what to call this part in front of the MOA. I was worried we would be suddenly told to "keep off the grass". :-D
Turista feels lang, outside the Mall of Asia.
We had breakfast at McDonald's. We had no photos because we were hungry AF, no one thought about it. I had much to complain about the Big Breakfast meal that I ordered but anyway, we ended up discussing Marawi. Afterwards, we basically had the whole day to loiter around MOA. Coming from a small-town girl (chos!), it was both tiring and overwhelming.

Just around MOA. We hung out for a while at Forever 21  because they were playing Britney tunes. I so wanted to bust some Britney moves then and there.
We didn't shop because our minds weren't wired for it. We just wanted to see the concert, and anyway, we didn't have bags to contain our stuff. But, we did sample some Krispy Kreme, Yellow Cab, Wendy's, etc when we felt hungry.
At Krispy Kreme
Sharing is caring, kaya share the calories. :)
Wait, I have the names for all of these Krispy Kreme donuts!
Left: Nutella With Almonds//Center: A half-eaten NY Cheese Cake (I really loved this one!)//Right: Salted Caramel, Vanilla Kreme Cake with Cookies, Vanilla Cake and Kitkat Choco Filled
Php 48.00 each
We took the MOA Eye in the afternoon. Here's a separate blog entry for that.

Afterwards, the excitement was just palpable. Eager Britney fans were making a beeline towards the entrance of the Mall of Asia Arena.

Shots all around the Mall of Asia Arena, from queuing until we inside the concert venue.
Me, looking chill with the Stormtroopers who's uniforms happened to match my shirt, shoes and bag.
I think I will do a separate post about the Britney concert. For now, these are some of the videos after the concert. As soon as "Work Bi*ch" played, I was tearing up. "Til The World Ends" came too soon and I was basically ugly-crying. We sang "Sometimes" while leaving the concert venue. Everyone was elated. It was a crazy 90-minute ride!

The concert ended at about 11:00 PM and we didn't sleep at a hotel but went straight to the airport for our June 16, 5:00 AM trip. What a hectic 24 hours for us, all for Kween Britney!

This is us, pre-take-off for Leyte. Now, I know that you have some questions in your mind. Okay, I'll spill the beans. Of course, wala po kaming ligo. But you might have figured that out already. Ha ha ha.

Our one day vacay is coming to an end, and the stress is showing on our faces.
Needless to say, we had one of the most amazing nights of our lives.

XO,

Carissa
