I've just finished a 2-month  VIP Membership subscription with Sample Room and obviously the pressing questions would be:
1. If I was happy and contented with the whole 'experience'; and
2. If I would be renewing my membership.
Well, I've give you a quick rundown of the whole lot that I got for the whole duration and see how it went. :)
Beauty loots from Sample Room. I'll lay them out for you later.
For those who don't already know, Sample Room 'is the Philippines' first ever beauty and lifestyle sampling website'. Upon membership you get 100 points which you can use to order some samples in the site. You review the products in turn and the points spent will be awarded back to you. To know more about Sample Room, you can read here and to know  more on how to become a member, you can read it here.

In the middle January 2016, I decided to avail of the VIP Membership so that I can have more points and avail of more products. I've been a regular member since 2013 and I thought it was about time to level up. :) I spent 799 for 1000 points and a soon as I received the points in my account, it was time for order galore!

Verdict
I'm obviously happy about the whole lot that I got for the whole 2-month period. Living in a town in the province means that I rarely get some new offerings in the grocery store aisles. With Sample Room's site, ordering is very convenient. I'm also glad that I was able to avail full-sized products.
Moreover, if we let the numbers speak, I'm obviously at the winning end.
The total price of all the products that I got amounted to  Php 7, 131.27. I only spent Php 1,689.00 for the membership fees and shipping expenses.

...but oooops!
There are times that I think that I could have ordered more if only the packages arrived faster. Sample Room ships via Xend, which in turn passes it on to LBC so instead of arriving in 2 days it usually arrives after 5 days or more.

Reminders
Be sure that you review your products thoroughly and specifically, otherwise, Sample Room wouldn't approve it and you won't be able to get your points back easily. :( Read the guidelines here.

To cap things, I plan to avail of the VIP Membership again in the future. I'm just visiting Sample Room's site from time to time to see if there are new products that would interest me in particular.

XO,

Carissa
Time flies indeed! I reached my first year milestone in the PNP last February 23. So far, everything is running smoothly. I’ve learned so much from my daily mix up with police matters, albeit I’m not a uniformed personnel, so to say. I’m also enjoying my small roles in community related activities, as well as my daily grind as a Crime Registrar. However, all work and no play makes Jane (or Juana) a dull girl. Did I pray for a break and got answered? Well yes! Lo and behold, 2 whole days on a work were given to us Juanas of the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office for team-building and merry-making. Now, this my friends is what we call a Women’s Month Celebration!
Allen PS we represent! :)
Women’s Month in a Nutshell
Before I go into the deets about the team-building, I’d like to share some info about how the month of March came to be dedicated for this cause. Before women had the whole month, the U.S. recognized Women’s Week; before that, a single International Women’s Day. The first Women’s Day took place on February 28, 1909, in New York City as a national observance organized by the Socialist party. It honoured the one-year anniversary of the garment worker’s strikes in New York that had taken place a year earlier when thousands of women marched for economic rights through Lower Manhattan to Union Square. For more info about this, read this article from Time here.

On to the Team Building. . .
Location: Lagbangan Eco Park and Beach Resort, San Antonio, Northern Samar
Date: March 29-30, 2016

This trip is riddled with many firsts for me that it feels like I've gone straight out of looserville: first time to attend a Women's Month Celebration outing, first time to ride a motorboat, and first time to cross the sea towards an island. Huzzah!
We come in peace. Arriving at the island via a state-of-the-art sea craft. Thank God the 'voyage' only took about 20 minutes from the terminal at Victoria because I was starting to feel a little edgy. No I was NOT nervous!
This being my first time to attend and it seemed that my companions were veterans of this occasion, I didn't know what to expect. Needless to say, we didn't waste much time and after finishing our lunch and resting and sleeping a bit, our activities immediately started. These photos were randomly taken during the games. It was so much fun, I had tummy aches for laughing too much! It truly gave us the chance to get to know each other better. What with the night socials extending up the wee hours of the 30th. I have a fairly good idea about who the best dancers and singers are, NUP and Police-wise, this side of the region. (^^,)
Our team leaders get blindfolded during the game of 'Find Me'.
Meanwhile, these are some of the photos taken inside the resort. Lovely, ayt? I'm actually thinking of coming back and inviting my siblings for a vacay.
Photos on he left were taken at Cafe Ruperto where we took our meals for the entire duration of the activity. On the right are the sights at the Lagbangan Eco Park and Beach Resort.

That would be me, making the most out of my two-day no work. :)
Bakasyonista mode. Wala munang Crime Registrar.
And lastly, this trip wouldn't  have been as fun it it were not for my companion, who also happens to be my office-mate, friend, chaperon (?! Look after me, I can't swim!!!), bedfellow and owner of the photos used in this blog post (royalty-free of course!). The fierce and arse-kicking Maam Tracy.

There's no other way to put it, I'm definitely looking forward to next year's team building!

Carissa
