Come Away With Me...to Imaga
The 10th of October was another day well spent outside of my comfort zone. I came face to face with nature’s wonders. I can’t believe that this beautiful place is sitting pretty like a duck just a few kilometers away from me. To spruce up the excitement, here’s a photo of where I have been. I know, I know. It’s gorgeous and all photos included in this post are amazing. Come take a look!

In another world....no it's not. I would throw a favorite expression here that says 'Allen yon!' |
Location: Sitio Imaga, Brgy. Cabacungan, Allen, Northern Samar
About 10 kms away from Allen town proper
We went to the beach and I know it is a bummer that I am not wearing cute shorts or beachwear but instead I am fully dressed in my PNP athletic uniform, complete with socks and sneakers, yes. Well, the uniform is always a must whenever we attend a community related activity to represent the organization. On such a Saturday, I and my peers attended the Alay Lakad 2015 sponsored by the Local Government Unit of Allen, among others. The beachfront at Sitio Imaga, Brgy. Cabacungan was the destination. Brgy. Cabacungan is like 9 kms away from Allen town proper and no we did NOT walk the whole way there. Some of us took the patrol car while the others like me, who came in early and was very excited, rode a (fast/flying) motorcycle courtesy of PO2 Ortego. Ha ha ha. I had some serious (buhaghag) hair issues when we arrived at Cabacungan. /(O_O)\
Sitio Imaga is still one or two kilometres from the heart of Cabacungan and that’s how the “Lakad” part happened. Akala nyo naman nag Alay-Sakay lang kami ah. As a matter of fact, we had these light moments on the way to Imaga.
And here are more photos of us right after arriving at the beach. That’s also right before we scrambled to get to take photos with the very picturesque scenery which was very tempting even from afar; you cannot help but want to come closer to the beach and to the rocky parts. Especially the rocky parts.

AMPS, that's Allen Municipal Police Station we represent. :) |
For starters, here are the photos we had near the rocks. Looking at them would make you wonder how they were shaped that way and you would realize that it is the making of the waves. This whole part would have been submerged underwater in the past. How many hundreds or thousands of years ago, I would not know. It is mind-boggling.
This place is really quiet. Even on a weekend there were very few people on the beach. From afar, you might say that this is a white sand beach but up close, the sand is not powder like but is composed of pieces of shells and corals that would take many more years to get pulverized before reaching the powder like consistency.
With me are my workmates who like me are “dressed” for the occasion. Thanks to them I had enough encouragement to climb through the rocks and to the top of the grotto. For someone who gets jittery with heights, it’s kind of an achievement.

Ready to scale the mountain, are we?! :) |
I reached the summit, or the grotto but not without hitches and glitches. If it seems in the photos that I'm having a great time, it is because I really am having a great time but my knees were literally shaking on the way up. I was clinging to the railings, no I hugging the posts for fear of slipping. However, if you are with good company, you would hardly notice the stresses and in the end, whatever you see or meet at the top makes clawing through the way up worth it.
It was a very tiring half-day but every single moment spent was worth it. Spent but not wasted, we always say. And as always, there are no dull moments when I am with these guys. Having a weekend like this makes me look forward to Mondays and the endless talks and discussions about our experience.
'Till my next little adventure. :)
XO,
NUP Posion
