everyday is God's masterpiece
reminiscing this beautiful sunset at caba beach in brgy.  cabacungan, allen, northern samar, circa march 2021, at the height of the covid-19 pandemic, no less!

for full three years, this photo sat on my drafts. i planned on writing something around it
but i never got to publish; it kept getting put off.
this photo is real lovely and it was even lovelier in person.
there were times that i wanted to write a new blog but i just ended up staring at this photo
for hours and hours.
how time flies and so much has passed since.
when I close my eyes, i feel like i could almost go back and
feel that carefree moment.

i've had two babies since.
i know, i know.
and I haven't posted anything on this blog ever since I found out i was pregnant
between being fatigued and nauseated and now living in constant chaos, i barely have
time to type a thing or two.

but hey, i am not complaining.
my hands are full but so it my heart.
oh, these two!

cedie & nala, constant source of joy and stress. there's no other way around it so let's just call it as it is. 😂

every day there are lessons to be learned and

one day, I wanna be able to look back and say

wtf! i did it! as a mom, i did it!

heck, i have no idea if when will be my next blog post

but i am not letting go of this blog because it feels like a time capsule

and i know i will always come back, maybe when i am less

Here's a review of the Vice Cosmetics Aura Blush in shade "Sweet Lang".Vice Cosmetics Aura Blush
Shade: Sweet Lang
Price: Php 145.00
Where To Buy: www.vicecosmetics.com

What is it?
A soft, buildable powder blush that gives a head-turning aura no matter the occasion. It comes in 8 universally flattering shades.

List of Ingredients

Swatch
"Sweet Lang" is a cool toned natural pink on fair skin and pale pink on medium to deep skin.

In Action
My Take
I expected "Sweet Lang" to be a matte pink blush with zero shimmers but upon looking closely at the pan and swatches, I realized that there are microshimmers in it. But I'm not disappointed though and it's totally fine with me since they are not the chunky type of spackles. They don't even look obvious in these photos. What I see is how flattering the shade is on my light-medium skin tone. Literally, I felt youthful when I saw the photos and I totally get why "Sweet Lang" is the name of the shade, because I look sweet.

Pigmentation is good, in fact you need to be careful because you could end up getting too much with just one swipe. It does tend to be powdery so you better tap off that excess before application.
Staying power is on the average, especially on my oily skin. Oil starts seeping on the three hour mark so there's definitely a need to reapply.

I was not happy about the packaging though. It comes in a plastic magenta compact and the transparent covering easily came off which I tried to remedy by taping it on. However, since it tended to come off every now and then, it kept opening up in my bag. It got contaminated and I started seeing molds on the surface. I had to chuck it, even if I barely made a dent on the star-embossed surface. Sayang! But I loved the blush itself and honestly I am still thinking about repurchasing in the future. Although, if the same thing happens about the covering, I will just try to depot it and not tape it on.
I love Vice Ganda's products in general, especially the Dual Finish Foundation which I have yet to review in this blog. If only the blushes came in sturdier packaging like the foundation.

Will I buy it again? Yes, despite the blunder with the packaging.
Will I recommend it? Yes I will. If I get asked about blushes at this price point, I would definitely mention this one.

I have also reviewed the Vice Cosmetics Good Vibes Lipsticks in the past.
Please click HERE to read.

Anyone who loves makeup has at some point, aspired to own even just a single bullet of the MAC lipstick. It took a while for me to purchase my first one since I dabbled with drugstore brands at the start. I currently own the iconic Ruby Woo (I'll save that one for another review 😉), and these two here, the Relentlessly Red and the Velvet Teddy.  They are both minis so they don't come in the usual black MAC bullet but are in brightly colored ones that roughly correspond to their respective shades. You can spot from the bottom labels that these aren't supposed to be sold individually because they are part of a set. I only purchased the shades that caught my eye: one nude shade and one bright red shade and I got them from a favorite seller on Instagram. I figured that since I am just trying out MAC for the first time, I will get the minis first and see how it goes from there.
So how did my first experience with MAC go? Find out after the jump.

MAC Relentlessly Red
Shade description - bright pinkish coral
Formula - retro matte
Price - Php 1050.00 for full size (lazada.com.ph)

MAC Relentlessly Red swatch and when worn
MAC Relentlessly Red Review
Relentlessly Red confused me as I expected it to be red but it is in fact a pinkish coral according to the shade description on the MAC website. 😆 Most times I tend to pull the pink (hot pink even) and there times that it's the red. A reddish pink or a pinkish red? One thing's for sure, this shade is muy caliente and it easily emboldens the wearer. It comes in the retro matte formula, which in MAC speak means it's more matte than their regular matte line. Unfortunately, if you have dry lips, this could pose a problem because it is drying and my lips have certainly taken a beating especially during colder months. Prep those puckers like I did and do, even good ol' Vaseline will suffice.
Pigmentation and color payoff is great. If applied directly from the tube, you might feel a bit of a drag since the retro matte formula feels more waxy than other lipsticks.
It transfers when freshly applied so I do the tissue blotting technique and then I use my pinky to press/spread the product to my lips. Sometimes I add another layer of it if I'm feeling extra. Because of its waxy feel, it has a good staying power and it resists fading even when I've sipped water or coffee. It only comes off when I've had something oily.

MAC Velvet Teddy
Shade description - a deep tone beige
Formula - matte
Price - Php 1050.00 for full size (lazada.com.ph)
MAC Velvet Teddy swatch and when worn
MAC Velvet Teddy Review
I loved Velvet Teddy right off the tube! As you can see in the photo above, it looks great on my skin tone. It's definitely a good nude shade for me as it is not too pale that I look sickly and not too bright pinkish or dark brown to pass off as a nude. MAC's matte is actually akin to creamy matte so it's a comfort to wear. Like the Relentlessly Red, it transfers when freshly applied so I also do the trick that I mentioned above and  then it adheres to the lips. It's not drying like the retro matte formula but the staying power is also average. Despite the average staying power, this will be one of those shades that I will always remember as a point of reference in the future.

To wrap up...
I bought the Ruby Woo after trying these two out so, long story short, I loved the experience with MAC. MAC lipsticks are well-loved and iconic for a reason; the formula has been tested time and again. In the end, it really boils down to shade selection and MAC  has a myriad of shades to choose from. Between these two, Velvet Teddy is the shade that I will most likely rebuy. I've been reaching for it more often since I really prefer wearing nudes, especially in an office setting. But there are days that I am in the mood for something like Relentlessly Red, depending on the weather or how I wanna dress up.

I am currently on a lipstick buying ban and I so badly want to consume all my tubes by 2022. Come to think of it, these are just minis and I am barely halfway through. No more lipstick hoarding for me: quality over quantity na dapat. It's a big feat but so far, I think I'm doing good and I promise to do better than I did in 2020.😆 If there would be another lipstick shade that I wanna try from MAC, it would be the Please Me. I'm still searching for the pink that's not too light, dark, hot or Barbie-ish and I have a feeling that Please Me is it. Maybe I'll deserve a full-sized MAC if I don't buy any lipstick this 2021. Walk the talk Cas, walk the talk.

Xo,
caRissa

I know it's been a while since my last blog. What have I been up to? A lot of things that I won't discuss here. 😆 Here's something that I would discuss for this blog.

You wouldn't believe it but you have to: I've been on a low buy on makeup since March Twenty Twenty. That was around the start of the community quarantine. I was successful naman, somehow. I wanted to go on a no buy but it seemed pretty impossible since I still tend to hoard on a few important stuff. I decided to focus on things that I would never not use and that would include face powders, brow pencils and palette, micellar waters and other skin care items. My current goal is to use up all the lipsticks in my stash, which means, no buying till 2022. By then I think I deserve a McGrath or a Tilbury na, kahit mini lang. Ha ha. We'll see. 🙈

So you might wonder why I'm doing an unboxing of these goodies from Tarte if I'm on low buy. Well, these were part of the stuff that I got at the end of 2019. The gift from 'me' to 'me' going on and as you can see in the photo below it really does come in a very sleek, giftable packaging. It's been a while since I purchased this that I already forgot how much it cost me. 😆 I bet you can already see what's inside but I will still say "unbox with me" just for the heck of it.

So these are the contents of the Tarte Party Time Trio. There's your mascara for the added drama. But the blush and the gloss are more on the natural side. We do tend to reach for lipsticks during parties but I can hear Serena van der Woodsen saying
"lipstick lasts longer but gloss is more fun" so this one's right up her alley.
Here they are. I checked the Tarte website and it seems that the mascara is in full size while the blush and gloss are both minis, respectively.
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-in-1 Mascara
Price: $23 (tartecosmetics.com)
"...touted as a push-up bra for your lashes, this 4-in-1 mascara volumizes, lengthens, curls & conditions lashes."
I bet you would be able to see my before and after photos below and I know that the photo can speak for itself. This baby really does add volume and length without being clumpy. It also does a good job at holding the curls as even after a long day at the office lashes still look fine. This aint waterproof tho so you might want to grab a different variant if you want that feature. However, despite it not being waterproof, I have not experienced having racoon eyes after a long day.
One more thing, the packaging is pretty. As a matter of personal preference tho, I am fine with having just a simple tube packaging for a mascara: I prefer a good performance over a fancy packaging. But this will no doubt decorate my vanity area long after the contents are gone.
Tarte 12- hour Amazonian Clay Blush shade in paarty
Price: $29 for full size (tartecosmetics.com)
I was most excited about the blush, probably because of Kris Aquino. I learned about her love for Tarte blushes from her morning show a while back. Now I got to experience first hand  what the fuss about Amazonian clay is all about. Turns out, they really are worth the love. I've only ever used powdery blushes, the kind that you have to tap out the excess before applying, the ones that have plenty of fallout, the kind that looks chalky when applied. These are NOT words you use to describe the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush. These babies are soft and silky smooth, almost creamy when applied. It's easy to get carried away and I sometimes tend to overapply but thankfully, paarty is a rosy nude that looks like a natural flush on my skin so I don't end up looking like a clown. It blends seamlessly and even blurs out my pores a bit (see photos below). Tarte claims that this blush wears for up to 12 hours and honestly, I don't wear makeup for that long. I only have it on for about 8 hours and the blush stays on despite my oily skin. I usually don't reapply and just blot out the excess oil at midday.
I was also so mesmerized with the Amazon River design embossed on the blush that it took me a few months before deciding to touch it.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea H2O Gloss Lipgloss in shade ribbon
Price: $19 for full size (tartecosmetics.com)
ribbon is also a pinkish nude shade that goes with the blush. First of all, I love the caramel candy scent. It's sweet without being overwhelming. I'm not much of a fan glosses because I always associate them with being icky and sticky. 😆 I always feel that thay end up in different places, from coffee cups to my flying hair. But hey, Tarte's H2O gloss has a non-sticky formulation. It also smooths the appearance of the lips and gives mirror-shine finish that makes lips look fuller and plumper. I didn't feel any dryness afterwards which tends to happen when I try out new products. If anything, it has a soothing effect and at the the end of the day, when I scrub what's left of the gloss, the flaky parts of my lips also gets scrubbed off, sans the pain.

Swatches

Swatches of ribbon H2O Lipgloss (L) and paarty Amazonian Clay Blush in paarty (R)

List of Ingredients

Tarte products are formulated without parabens, mineral oils, phthalates, triclosan, SLS, gluten. They are also cruelty free, dermatologist-tested and vegan-friendly according to their website.

Meee, before and after wearing Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara, Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in paarty, and Tarte Rainforest of the Sea H2O Glossloss in ribbon. As a side note, I am also wearing another bestseller from Tarte, the Shape Tape Concealer to minimize the appearance of dark circles.

Overall, these are good products but if I were to decide if which one would I repurchase in the future, my money is definitely on the Amazonian Clay Blush. I think I would pan this mini soon, at the rate that I'm using it. The gloss I could live without and I know of a mascara that is just as awesome but at a lower price tag.

Have you tried any Tarte products before? Which ones are your favorites? I definitely live the Shape Tape Concealer, talagang lumalaban. And now the Amazonian Clay Blush is a new fave.

My Take
Regrets...I've had a few. If I can fix a skin care mistake in the past, it would be that I would pay more attention to wearing sunscreen. I always thought that SPF on makeup was enough but recent readings have made me realize the importance of having a dedicated protection from UVA and UVB rays. I hope to the gods that it's not too late to make amends.

One of the main reasons though why I veered away from sunscreens is that I always associated it with being sticky or greasy. I also felt that it causes breakouts. I've been dabbling with different sunscreen brands within my budget during the past year and I am thrilled that I've found something wonderful in Belo SunExpert's Face Cover. I was able to try out different varieties from Belo due to my membership with Sample Room but I missed this one and I regret not discovering this item a long time ago.

It comes in a cream form and I feared that it might be too heavy or sticky. But as soon as I blended it out on my skin, it is well absorbed and it doesn't feel heavy at all. I have oily skin and as a matter of preference, I am fine with the dewy finish that it leaves. It feels comfortable even if I wear primer or foundation on top and it doesn't leave a weird white cast (see photo above). More importantly, I'm glad that it didn't break me out. I've read  that we should wear at least SPF 30 so this definitely fits the bill and it also provides broad spectrum coverage. They say that the best sunscreen is the one that you will wear every day and yes, I feel comfortable wearing this one on a daily basis. What else can I say? Repurchases are in order, preferably in a bigger tube this time.

Will I buy it again? Definitely!
Will I recommend it? Yes!

Have you tried any products from Belo lately?
Drop your experience in the comment box below.

XO,
Carissa
Short answer: NO. 😁
At least that's what I learned from using the CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch during a bad breakout. Cystic pimples are the worst of their kind. They are excessively painful, they are too obvious, too red and they take forever to heal. And don't forget about the pus! Ugh!
So if you think that a pimple patch is something you put on top of your zit to make it magically vanish the next day, you are wrong. But using it does have some benefits so it's not a bad idea to keep some at bay.

CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch
How much: Php 150.00
Where to buy: Sophia and Kalel
CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch ingredients and other details
CosRx pimple patches are comfortable to wear. They are not too thick nor too hard and they adhere well to the skin. I've worn them overnight and they really stay on the same spot where you apply them.
I always tell myself to quit touching my face especially if I have a budding zit but really, sometimes I just can't help it. So when I have this patch on, I have a physical reminder to keep my hands off. And if I do end up accidentally touching my zit, I still have this as a protective barrier.
It was a very satisfying experience to look at the patch once I have removed it in the morning. I can see the oil and impurities that have been absorbed.
A single pad of the CosRx Pimple Master Patch contains 24 patches in different sizes (10 pcs of 7mm, 5 pcs of 10mm and 9 pcs of 12 mm).
A hydrocolloid patch absorbs oil and extracts impurities while creating a barrier that protects against outside irritants.
Here are photos that I took for three consecutive mornings to observe the daily progress of using the CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch.
In the photo above you can see how very red and angry my pimple is. Day after day it has calmed down and it has flattened. Your pimple won't go away overnight but it will heal better and you won't be left with a bad scar to deal with in the aftermath.
Will I buy it again? Definitely. It's very affordable. It's not something I can't live without but I also love having it around just in case.
Will I recommend it? For spot treatments and those once in a bluemoon zits, yes.

XoXo,
caRissa

Ps. This whole situation happened last April. My skin's been doing well lately. 😉
I pre-ordered this set from an Instagram seller (@BeautyInABoxPh) last year and I think she got this one during the Black Friday Sale in the US. I wanted to give myself a birthday gift, sort of, yet again, although it didn't arrive on time. 😂 But it's okay, I'm totes chill about it now. There used to be a time when I got stressed out even by micro-delays but now I just sit back, relax and the J&T rider just arrives.
So, this is the PLAY! by Sephora right here. PLAY! is an affordable subscription box that lets you try samples of six new beauty products from Sephora's coveted brands. They range from skin care to makeup to hair care products. For just $10, you'll get up to $65 worth of products and as I figured out when I opened this set, they're actually minis or travel-sized. Sooooo nakakahappy! Here's what's inside and I really do feel like PLAYing with 'em.
📌Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser and Bamboo Booster Exfoliant physique
The Slaai™ Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is an innovative cleansing balm that melts all traces of dirt, makeup and sunscreen from skin. Included in the set is the Bamboo Booster™ Tiny, ultra-fine bamboo spheres that gently exfoliate away built-up dead, dry skin.

I'll admit that Drunk Elephant is the biggest draw for me here! DE products are pricey and  I know that I will never shell out a big amount for skin care products even if I can afford it. I finally got the chance to try it out because of PLAY! I will hold my opinion for a little while because it merits a full review so I will be making a separate blog entry for it soon.

📌Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover
Clinique's best-selling makeup remover! Clinique describes it as a totally tugless formula that dissolves and lifts away long-wearing and even waterproof mascara. Whew! I won't argue with that 'coz is true. What's more is that it is non-irritating and non-stingy and is free from synthetic colors and alcohol.

📌Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Simple Detox Shampoo
Living Proof's site describes it as a "revolutionary shampoo that helps deliver beautiful, healthy looking hair, while it helps it feel cleaner, longer". Out of all the products in the set I think this the first one that I used and fully consumed. TBH, I didn't feel anything particularly revolutionary or notable about this product. Like, it was shampoo, okay. My dry and damaged hair couldn't tell the difference. 😄 In its defense, maybe I didn't use it long enough to make a difference.

📌Juliette has a gun Not A Perfume
Juliette has a gun is minimalist fragrance that reminds me of clean, freshly laundered clothes that just got off from drying in the sun. It has none of those different elements that make up the base, middle, and top notes like other fragrances because it only has a single ingredient which is the Cetalox, a synthetic fragrance that has naturally woody smell, with tones of musky amber. (www.oakmanorfragrances.com)

📌Caudalie Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum
This is a lightweight serum that melts into skin to help reduce the appearance of imperfections and tightens pores.  It contains salicylic acid, grape seed polyphenols and organic essential oils. I'd like to take my time in using this so that I can make a good review. For now, I'm just enjoying the great smell of it. 😁

📌Bite Beauty Power Move  Creamy Matte  Lip Crayon in Glacé
I love the shade! Glacé is a dusty mauve that is so close to my natural lip color. It has a creamy matte formula plus it contains moisturizing ingredients such as pomegranate oil and Wild African Mango Butter. Having a creamy matte formula makes it comfortable to wear and although it transfer, it leaves a lovely stain behind.

To cap things, I am so happy with what I got for my first (and probably only) PLAY! by Sephora.
I loved the variety. Some may not be happy about having just one makeup item but I'm really fine with it since I've become a skin care junkee lately.
I'm definitely happy about having makeup removers in the set because I actually use them a lot and I know that they will be put to good use.
Am also excited about the serum because I am currently exploring about them.
I still have tons of lipsticks to use up so I know it will take a while before I get to Glacé.
It doesn't help that I don't get to wear a lipstick as often because of the masks.

Ugh! COVID go away already!
You suck! You've taken away so many precious lives with you.
Rest in peace, Lloyd Cafe Cadena. 💗😭
Heaven has truly gained another angel.

caRissa
For months and months our smiles have been obscured underneath face masks.
Let me indulge for just a bit, and please don't hurl accusations.
Hubby and I dropped our face masks real quick to dine and to have these photos taken.
There's a new food spot close to home.
I've been seeing photos of this place and I knew we had to check it out.
The boardwalk that has a swing at the far end, matched with the serene sea as a backdrop is very 'grammable and who could say no to discovering new places.
More about Igot Shore after the jump.
It was early August when we went there and back then, there were barely any recorded cases of COVID19 in our area so the Victoria-Allen border was not too strict. We were under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) so restaurants were allowed to operate to a limited capacity, given that health protocols are implemented.

Things have changed by the end of August. The COVID19 cases in our province have increased and in truth, it will take a while before we venture out again even if we are under MGCQ  so I'm glad we were able to visit before things got a little bit more crazy.

Let me walk you through Igot Shore. I bet by the end of this post you would want to visit too.
The short trip was a cake walk, like I said, there isn't much traffic to deal with if you live in the province, moreso if it's a Sunday and there is a community quarantine.
The place isn't hard to find since the boardwalk that juts out to the sea can be viewed from the highway.
"Charming, serene, and inviting"
I thought when this came into view.
Restaurants operating at limited capacity makes you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Hubby and I definitely loved the ambiance. I loved the cool sea breeze that I didn't even bother removing my jacket. They couldn't get any cooler but Queen's songs were blaring on the speaker and I couldn't help but belt some.
After a while, we fell into companionable silence while admiring the whole place. We were afforded a good view of the Dalupiri Pass and San Antonio Island in a distance. I saw people paddling their bancas, some were catching fish.
How peaceful, we could ALMOST forget that we have a pandemic at our helm. 😆
When you see this part you actually try to act cool and not run towards it immediately. Ha! It can wait, we need to eat first, I told myself.
While waiting for our food, my dear photographer of a husband took the chance to shoot.
Whilst I took the chance to take photos of the place.
I'm amazed that we didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive. Another big plus, especially if I am with a crabby guy for a companion. I'm bummed tho that I wasn't able to take a photo of the menu but I would say that they serve regular farings in Filipino diners. So think pancit, lumpia, chopseuy, bulalo, and basically anything that goes well with rice. They have those. They also have fries, burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches and shakes, which was what we ordered, along with the requisite fried chicken, another Pinoy staple. 😁 Don't worry, the prices are aren't astronomical plus the servings are sizeable so you'll definitely get your money's worth.
I  wish I could have taken better photos before we devoured our meal but we are not keen on doing that, plus we were so hungry we downed everything in a single barf.
Before we took our last bite we agreed that we would come back soon because we really enjoyed the food and the place. We mused about how lovely (and romantic) this place would look like at night. Someday soon. I heard they close the place at 9:30 so it's perfect for a dinner date.
Some parts in the compound were still under construction so I have no doubt that there's still more to come for Igot Shore.

The photos at the boardwalk were just icing on the cake.
But how could we leave without one, so. 😉

Igot Shore is located at Brgy. Colab-og, Victoria, Northern Samar
I found their Facebook Page and their phone number is listed: 09458511134
It also says that they are open from 9:00 AM  to 9:30 PM

Now, masks on.

Sunday Lunch at Igot Shore

Here's a long overdue review of the Pyunkang Yul Low pH Pore Deep Cleansing Foam.
Pyunkang yul low ph deep cleanaing foam
What is it?
A cleansing foam that cleanses deeply yet gently to remove impurities, dirt and makeup. It mimics the skin's own pH level so it doesn't disturb the acid mantle.

Packaging/Ingredients
I have the travel sized squeeze tube here so it only contains 40 mL of product. As you can see the packaging is simple, no eye-catching illustrations whatsoever. That's the way I like it though because I love the clean minimalist look and I always associate it to being straight forward and no nonsense.

Ingredients and other details
Here's a photo of the back label. Of course I cannot read Korean but luckily I was able to find the details on www.ohlolly.com and here's the ingredients list:

Water, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Glycerin, Coconut Acid, Polyquaternium-67, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Isethionate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Acetate, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Beta-Glucan, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, Phaseolus Angularis Seed Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Diatomaceous Earth, Isopropyl Alcohol, Citric Acid

My Take
Years and years of being a Project Vanity reader has instilled in me the importance of using a pH balanced facial wash. I look back on all those times that I've had a crazy breakout and I wish I could undo all the skincare mistakes of the past. *cringe* That is why I am always on a hunt for a facial wash that will not mess up with my skin barrier. A future tip too for my own daughter when the time comes.

Last April, while I was in the middle of a huge breakout on my right temple I went browsing at the Shopee Page of Sophia and Kalel, I chanced upon this facial wash from Pyunkang Yul. I'll admit that the "low pH" tag caught my eye but I was not familiar with the brand so I decided to Google it. Let's just say that I liked what I saw, enough to make me order two tubes at once, along with other skin care stuff which I featured in my previous haul.

I've been using this facial wash ever since and as I write this blog, I've emptied one tube, I'm currently on one, and I have two more on the way. Wait, let me correct that statement; somewhere in between I tried to dabble with another facial wash for a few days which turned out to be a bad decision so I went back to Pyunkang Yul. If that doesn't speak volumes about how much I love this product then I don't know what does.
A dollop of Pyunkang Yul Low pH Deep Cleansing Foam mixed with water. Notice the sparkly stuff embedded in it.
Lemme break it down for you. It smells fresh, akin to lemon-ginger according to my nose but I've read that it smells like bergamot and I have no idea if how that smells like so I'll just stick with my own interpretation of the scent.  It gives a satisfying foamy lather and it feels so gentle, no stingy or harsh feeling at all. I love using lukewarm water to wash it off and my skin feels clean, soft, and smooth. No tight, dry or stripped feeling. Above all, I have really experienced changes in my skin's texture and I seldomly get stubborn breakouts now. If I do, my skin recovers quickly. I'd like to think I've found a holy grail facial wash, something I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase in the future.

My current skin care products. Plus sleep, drinking water and consistency in following the routine.
I did mention in my title that I would also be featuring some of the skin care products that I am currently using. I've kept my routine simple with just a few products because I'm scared chicken that I will have another breakout if I overwhelm myself.  Click on the links to read reviews about the products.
  • Nivea MicellAIR Acne Clear Micellar Water 0% Alcohol (Php 99.00, Mercury Drug) - no surprise here, I already talked about how much I love this one
  • Human Heart Nature Balancing Facial Toner (Php 99.00, www.humanheartnature.com) - new packaging, same love
  • Klorane Eye Makeup Remover - just trying to use it up coz sayang, and I could do with just the Nivea MicellAIR tbh 😉
  • Maxi Peel Sun Protection Cream SPF 20 (Php 45.00, Mercury Drug)  - I know I could still do better with the amount of SPF here. I've seen this product at the local drugstore but I have always walked past it. Then I read a review on PV that said that it is worth a try despite the lower SPF content and I was pleasantly surprised by it. It doesn't smell, it doesn't break me out, it is light enough to be worn underneath makeup and my skin's doing great at the moment. I will consume the mini tub before I try a different sunscreen but I will still buy it as a backup. Oh, it's Php 45.00. Ang saya!
  • Sooper Beaute Baby Skin Serum (Php 199.00, www.beautymnl.com) -  This serum smells like my favorite fruit: the pomelo, so I feel perky when I get a whiff of it especially in the morning. It contains Vitamin E, Snail Secretion, Lactic Acid and a cocktail of extracts (chamomile, witch hazel and tomato). The label says that it is an "elixir to younger, poreless and glowing skin". That's a lot of promise and I know it would take more than a serum to have a baby skin so I didn't really bank on that. But this serum deserves some love. I love the consistency, it's not too thick nor runny so it does fine underneath my makeup. It spreads easily and is absorbed quickly by the skin.  It does minimize the appearance of my pores. Not quite baby skin yet, but the texture of my skin improved, it's currently plumper or bouncier, less pimple prone and the pimple marks are fading. This small bottle is almost done but I won't be repurchasing at the moment as I have another bottle of serum to consume, also from the same brand. I say I enjoyed using Super Beaute so I also won't hesitate to purchase from them in the future.
